Meet Carmen Angelos, my wonderful nectar-making sim:

ry%3D480

I, too, am a "nectar" enthusiast in RL and have always enjoyed the nectar-making items from the 'ol World Adventures EP. However, I found that I was making the same few recipes over and over again; growing the same fruits; and losing track of which recipe used what ingredients.

I thus decided to compile the information that I had gathered from various sources over the last couple of years, organize my scrawled notes and embark on a project to name the top nectar recipes, list their attributes and organize them based on value. While this value can vary somewhat, I have found that it is more or less accurate across games and computers.

Carmen worked her little butt off for well over a sim year on this project. To honor her, I will be creating a story thread over the next few days about her busy year created in the form of a letter to her aunt back in Spain.

(Story Link to follow)

For the purposes of this thread, however, I will merely post the results of Carmen's grand endeavors:

98 AMAZING AND/OR VALUABLE NECTAR RECIPES

*All results based on Carmen Angelos' Level 10 Nectar Skill, Perfect Fruit, Flavor Enhancement upgrade to nectar machines, Extended Nectaration and Flavorful Feet earned through 40-squish skill opportunity. Sorted by price. Bottle prices listed are straight out of the machine before aging.

(Thanks to Murfee for catching a duplicate. Four recipes recommended by Sincerbox have also been added to the list.)

Now my question to all of you:

Does anyone have any amazing and/or valuable nectar recipes utilizing lemon? I have yet to experiment with that fruit and have not seen any such recipes posted anywhere.

First off, Carmen Angelos is beautiful! :) Wow! She has some mad, crazy nectar making skills - I an very impressed! :D Well done
I am always making nectar because I love to have my sims carry some bottles in their inventory so they may serve when they attend parties, social gatherings etc. :) My male sims Luka and Beau have level 10 nectar making skills, but I have never really taken much notice of the different nectars they make... I simply do the best I can with the produce available  I will try to see what cool nectars they have created using lemons :) I have bookmarked this thread 8)

It's very hard to search through 95 recipes. I did not find 2 amazing recipes I have:

4 Pomegranate, 3 Flame Fruit, 1 Life Fruit, 1 Cranerlet Nuala, 1 Gralladina Fran

    6 Plum, 4 Cherry

If those recipes are there my mistake.

Thank you so much for this list. I am printing it immediately and saving it to file as well. I only had about 15 recipes and certainly non with banana. Thank you! Thank you!

/edit to add: I also have:

7 Gralladina Fran, 2 Flame Fruit, 1 Life Fruit

Sam! Brilliant. A woman after my own heart, you are.

OK, I used to be SO into this. This was the first thing I ever did with the sims was try and figure out all the nectar recipes. I had an excel spreadsheet. I know.

Well I once had an excellent recipe with lemons and I discovered it by accident and I can't remember what it was. I think it was similar to one of the recipes that works with lime, only with lemon.

This thread was really helpful and somewhere in there is a lot of data about calculating value.. not just through game play but by looking into the game coding, Just in case anyone wants to go nuts on this like I did but it is quite cheater-ish! I love that you've posted recipes with names, and history. My sims are still naming particular blends after key moments in their grandsimmie's lives. :D

I so want to get back to nectar making. I will as soon as I get my other projects a little more under control... We can make it a project... divi up the possible combinations with lemon and try them all out. We'd be breaking new ground :D

I am truly impressed! This is so useful, and I was wanting something like it. Now my medieval sims in Dragon Valley can have juice that is worthy of them. Back in medieval days, after all, juice was taken very seriously. LOL

Oh, this is just AWESOME! Bookmarked!

My sim was at the Consignment Shop the other day and picked up a bottle of nectar made with eggplant. You might want to factor that frui--er, vegetable into your experiments, lol... :P

Thank you so much for this!

Not only did you put up these amazing recipes, you also took the time to suggest how many of which plants to have on hand. Very sweet of you!

Now I have to go edit the community garden barn lot I made. It has a garden area outside and a nectar machine in the cellar. It'll be fun trying out all these recipes!

Thank you, Kate! Hugs back. I'd love to see your lemon recipes. It's nice to know that someone loves the nectar-making as much as I do.

Lovellisac and lovestorems, you are so welcome!! I had made this for myself and decided that someone else might find it useful, too.
bookmarked!!! This is amazing! This needs to be moved to the WA forums and stickied! I've never really explored the nectar making skill extensively, but I've always intended to! This will definitely help out.

Niac, I'm a dork! I totally meant to put it into the WA forums and accidentally put it into "Worlds" instead. How do I fix that? Do I have to ask a guru somehow? Thanks for your encouragement, though!

Sincerbox: I'm thrilled to see those three recipes. I had not tried those combos before, so I will do that very soon. I would be great to reach a total of 100 as a group effort!

Thank you, Aminovas! I have poured over that thread at Carl's Sims many times over the last many months! I did briefly reference it in my first post and again toward the end of my second, but it was easy to miss. I should have added the link to my credits. Thanks for doing that! I do encourage anyone with game coding understanding to give it a look-see, plus it was the source for many of the recipes that I tested. The technical discussions were a bit over my head, unfortunately, though I did grasp "some" of it.

Amjoie, Hallie and Jen: Have fun with your nectar-making simmies. The machine and the nectar racks are such a nice addition to the game even though they're some of the oldest Sims 3 PC items.

Oh, BTW, Hallie: I read over on Carl's Sims that you actually cannot use the purple eggplants to make nectar, so I didn't try. Yes, I know that there is eggplant nectar coded in the game and my sims have tasted in from the racks, but the nectar-making machine apparently only allows fruit. I was disappointed in that news as I thought it would be fun to experiment with it. I guess the eggplant is only good for cooking and for the kid's juice stand.

As mentioned, I plan to do a fun related "project," consisting of Carmen's letters to her Tia Lavinia and I'll post the link to the beginning of that thread tomorrow or Friday. I'm usually a builder and not normally a storyteller by any means, but I was inspired by the idea as I was working with my sim and taking photos of her and her hubby.

EDIT: Oh, and Monet and Tiki, thank you and you're welcome! You posted while I was responding to the others. It is so nice that people can find this useful. I know that I had been wanting a decent list of recipes for awhile. Even though others had shared combos, I wanted to remember them more easily with names on a list. I thought it would be easier to keep track of them that way.

Whoa, Ami: Re-reading your post with a keener eye, I am impressed by your level of dedication! A spreadsheet beats the scrawled notes I had been collecting hands down!

If you can make sense of those coding discussions over at Carl's Sims, more power to you and I would love to join efforts in a big li'l project someday to unlock the lemon's potential. Carmen needs to soak the stains off her feet first, though, and you must finish your fabby Gatsby world! In the meantime, we'll just toast our future plans.

Oh my gosh, Jen! Thank you so much for the gifts. That really caught me by surprise. You totally did not have to do that, but you are a sweetheart and deserve a big hug. I couldn't post on your page, so I sent you a FR.

Thank you for the great list. I never even thought of something like this even though several of my sims are into nectar making. Very nice of you. If I come up with any good ones I'll let you know. :D

This is great! I'm so glad you posted this by accident here because I likely wouldn't have seen it in the WA forum.

I've consulted Carl's site with my last nectar sim. Lucky for me I found this, just as my present teen sim is working on his nectar skills. He was fortunate that his father had done all the hard work on raising perfect fruits and vegetables. So now he just needs to raise his nectar skill and complete some challenges. Your wonderful list (and great nectar names!) means he has an edge.

    Thank you again!

    Thank you for this!!!

I've have so wanted to create a nectar making Sim and now I think that I will. What are some of the traits you used in creating yours?

    :-)

This is AMAZING!!! I want to dedicate Monte Vista to excellent Nectar making with various farms and vineyards that my simmies can go visit on their honeymoons and go nectar tasting and the likes :D But I currently know nothing about nectar making- just got WA recently

With this my dream may actually become a reality :) Thank you!! Big Hugs :D

Carmen may be amazing, but you are amazinger!!! Thank you SO much for this list! I was actually contemplating finally have a self-employed nectar making sim last night, so this will be wonderful. I can't wait to see the story behind the magic :)
