WOOHOO! IT’S A CELBRATION LOTTERY!
C’mon in everybody, it’s time to celebrate the good things in life, however major or minor they may be!
And who better to celebrate with than all your fellow simmers, right? Exactly, that’s what I thought! So I thought I’d take some time in this messy, chaotic life of mine to celebrate all the positive things happening in my life! What am I celebrating you ask? Well first of all my health is improving every day, something I had begun to give up hope on and I’m even getting so well I’ve almost finished reading an entire book! :b Secondly, I just got an amazing new laptop after having to do without for 8 months (! :shock: ) and it’s a proper gaming beast that plays the Sims like a dream! I’m also almost at 2000 posts yay! And last, but not least, it’s my birthday soon! Not really excited about that this year, so maybe this will help me get in the mood for some birthday cheerfulness! :PAnd since I want you all to feel the joy as well, so I’ve decided to have this Five Day Celebration Lottery! Yay for lotteries! Now I really don’t want this to be a “I nominate myself”-and-then-people-just-leave-the-thread kind of lottery, so every day there will be a challenge that you’ll have to do to get nominations. That’s right folks, challenges! Now it’s nothing more than you can easily do in less than a day, since well – this is a lottery, not a contest and therefore there will be no one judging. All the names will be thrown into the randomizer after the Day 5 Challenge is complete and four winners will be chosen!
So to up your chances of winning I will give you one entry per day, with three nominations per entry including the option to nominate yourself once every entry! That’s right folks! That’s five entries for yourself right there! That is, if you decide to join in all the five days of fun, of course
Everyday I will also choose a winner of that particular challenge who will then get two extra noms and a 25 sp item! These winners will be based solely of what I think looks the best based on the entry. You can only enter on any given day with an entry for that particular day's challenge. YUMMY NOM-NOM-NOMINATION RULES:
1. You can enter once a day with an entry that is within the particular challenge of that day.
2. With each entry you get three nominations. You can use one of these on yourself and the rest for friends or just all three for your friends if you want to.
3. This means max 5 entries and maximum nominating yourself five times.
4. You can’t nominate a friend more than once a day. Since there’s no max nominations (because oh dear goodness, I have no clue how to figure that one out lol!) I thought this would be the easiest way to try and keep it as fair as possible.
5. Yes, if you win in the final drawing you can choose to give away your prize.
6. If you win one of the challenges you will get two extra nominations to use for yourself or others, including a 25 sp store item. The challenge winners will be chosen daily by me and no one else, based on which on I like the best.
7. You can only win in one challenge, however you can win both a challenge and one of the final prizes.

Welcome to Day 1 of my Celebration shenanigans! Here’s what you have to do today to get yourself some nom noms!
FIND ME A PATTERN! Let’s celebrate those amazing CAPpers in here and find me some wood and stone patterns! That’s right, nothing to do but going on a little trip to the Exchange or your friends’ or your own studios and find something lovely for me to put in my game! There’s a real lack of proper wood patterns in game that look like they could be used as hardwood floors (as most of them look cheap or like extremely long planks) and I can always use some more patterns that look like old stone, different masonry or just another kind of tile!

FIND ME SOME POSES! I have some new sims waiting to be showcased in my thread and you know what? I don’t have any poses! O: Oh dear! I used to, but then they left looking for greener pastures, so how about you help a brother out and find me some new ones? Awesome! I knew I could count on you! I could really use some sweet, funny, cute, pretty, silly, crazy (as in fun, not as in “for your sim that needs to look like he’s in the looney bin”-crazy) poses that look like something you’d see in an actualy normal picture of a person.

RECOMMEND ME SOME MODS! Yep yep, if you’re more of an a la mod person, then I could always use some help navigating the jungle that is modding. So far I’ve only dared to use twallans ErrorTrap, OverWatch, AntiMagicScroll, Saver, Master Controller, Careers and gonna put in Story Progression as well soon. So what I want you to do is recommend a mod that isn’t one of these – could be from twallan/nraas, could be from modthesims or somewhere, as long as you’ve tried it without ruining your game lol!

TIP ME OFF! That’s right, if you’re not really into putting stuff into your game that isn’t EA-stamped, then just tell me of a neat trick/cheat/tip that you think improves your game! Can be anything as long as it’s not “there is a cheat box, here’s how to open it”.

Specific Day 3 challenge rules:
1. You can only recommend a mod or pose pack if you use that exact one in your own game. That is to try and at least have some sort of feeling that it is safe to use, should I decide to use it in game.
2. Poses: I do NOT want any murderous, scary or ermm.. “lady of the night” poses if you know what I mean lol, I know there’s a ton of those, but that’s not what I’m looking for and I want to keep this kid-friendly.
3. Mods: It has to be a mod I don’t already have. Again. Nothing with murder or anything. And NO diseases! It’s bad enough that I have to live with my sims getting the flu.
4. Get the entry in by July 29th at 10 pm (+1 time zone)
Whew! That was a lot of explaining I had to do for Day 3 huh? Well luckily Day 4 is a lot easier to explain!
FIND ME A THEMED COMMUNITY LOT! Go to the exchange/friends’ studio/your studio and find me some good community lots that are perfect for a themed world! I’d really like some live venues, comic book stores, bowling alleys, wedding venues, ports, festival lots that fit themes like Dragon Valley, Sunlit Tides, Victorian etc.

Congratulations! You’ve made it to the final and 5th Day of the Celebration! Here, have some celebratory bamboo-juice! This was nothing though, in the Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy there is a mention of a floating party that never ends and where no one ever leaves. Now if you’d been to that party and survived, now that would have been impressive.
MAKE ME A SIM! Don’t worry, don’t worry! I know this is a lottery, not a contest and that there's only five days to do it in, so I’ve taken that into account. But first of all let me explain what kind of sim I want you to make:
It has to be inspired by a plant! Yes, a plant. Willow tree, daisy, leave of grass, mushroom, whatever takes your fancy! I only need you to make the sim with an Everyday outfit and you don’t have to upload it to the exchange, just post a picture that shows it off in a way where you can actually see what it looks like. No need for poses or anything, just an ordinary image.

Specific Day 5 challenge rules:
1. Your sim has to be human. That is no fairies, plantsims, etc etc etc.
2. It is not enough to just make a sim with green skin and red hair, call it Rose and say it’s inspired by a rose. Have fun with it people and be creative!
3. One fullbody picture is required, no more than three is allowed. A headshot would be nice, but not a requirement.
4. You only have to focus on the body/head of the sim, everyday wear and the traits. Nothing else really matters, but you’re more than welcome to do more than that.
5. NO CC! I’m interested in seeing what you can do with what EA has given us. There is probably CC out there that makes your sim look very plant like, but that would just be too easy
6. Not a requirement to upload, but feel free to do so and share the link.
7. Get your entry in by July 31st at 12pm (+1 time zone)

Yeah, it is set to go in the wood section in the game. I know it's not a traditional wood pattern. It's like a "wood grain meets circuit board" pattern. I made it for Hollowness and her steam punk aesthetic.

And it does look very steampunky (which is awesome), now that you mention the circuit board thing I can see what you mean and you've really made a perfect pattern for that theme!
