@Vuneca: You could also enforce the rule that all kids generated, apart from the heir, should be send to boardingschool for those that have generations, since that leaves infant and toddler stage to live through solo. Quickly aging the kids makes Surrounded by Family a non-challenge and those that don't have Generations should be just given a bye on that LTW.
An extra difficulty idea... Challengers could optionally add some hardcore play to Going Solo by doing all the LTW-challenges for a chosen LTW. ^^

Merdakah
Merdakah started my Going Solo as a witch and quickly settled on crafting elixers. She wanted to become an Alchemy Artisan and since that neatly tied in with the LTW Alchemy Artisan (both the career and the LTW share the same name) I went with that.
She tried to become romantic with several men around Appaloosa, but finally succeeded in ensnaring a postal worker and she became pregnant with Arlanah.
The AA-career is stupendously easy. With the consigner award and high end elixer-crafting (mixing three potions at once reliably) every trip to the elixer-consignment store was a guaranteed promotion. Merdakah started out with a small ingredient garden, but it was wasted time after I found out how well the Bee-in-a-bottle elixer sold. The consignment store has two bee-boxes that can be raided daily and adding four bee-boxes to my own lot sorted all my ingredient problems.
The AA-LTW is also too easy to contemplate as a serious LTW to pick for your sim. As a witch rocketting to the top is a given the "use 50 elixers" part is just time-consuming. Merdakah mixed and subsequently quaffed 50 potions of bliss. Hmmm... At least she was happy all the time.
At any rate, just two days into her adult-stage, Merdakah has done her part. Which suits me nice as I now can let her free-will allover the place and focus on Arlanah getting a crapton of UNI-credits before she becomes old enough to enroll in Uni.

I take the LTW's top-down, so her LTW will be the one following Alchemy Artisan. Careers I like to take as my Sim wihses for one, with careers I don't mind either way, since they essentially can't be borked anyway. Especially with the slacker-award careers are pointless challengewise anyway. ^^
Years passed and Loulou was promoted to Lead Report. This was quite important to her but somehow she wasn't happy... something was missing. She was still living in the same small apartment. And, to be honest, she hated Bridgeport. It was a big, grey city. The weather was always bad. It was middle of summer and sunny everywhere... but in Bridgeport.
She couldn’t go on like this, only working. She wanted to enjoy life, like she did before.
“What can I do to change this”, she says to herself while watching the rain through the window, and she continues, “Why am I still here? There is absolutely nothing keeping me from moving away from this place. I could go live somewhere else. My job allows me to work - and live! - wherever I want!”

She stayed two week at the resort, only long enough until she found a place to live. She was very lucky to meet Emilian (the man inside the pool). He knew some people at the island and helped her to find a house.
The house is not what Loulou was really looking for. She was expecting something closer to the sea or, at least with a pool. But the price was good and she decided to move in. Later she'd have time to look for someting else.

Now to Emilian... he is a guitarist and wants to be a rock star. Emilian was born in Barnacle Bay, son of a family of scientists. His father owns a laboratory and had already planned Emilian’s whole life: he would follow his steps and, one day, take over his business. But Emilian, born virtuoso, had another plan for his life: he wants to follow the music career, to be a rock star. After trying to convince his family that his talents lie elsewhere than in a laboratory, he decided to start a new life on his own. So he packed his guitar and went as far as his money allowed him to: Isla Paradiso, where he works for a music group. Sometimes he plays for tips as well.

She was depressed! Pregnant and heart broken. It didn't matter that Vera was doing life for Titus' murder. That didn't bring him back, didn't keep the father of her soon to be born baby there. She quit her job. Sh stopped talking to all her friends. Her bed was her friend. Her bed was her world.
It took the desperate pleas of her elderly father to get her out of the house.
"Please come see me. I don't have much longer to live and we need to talk"
"My heart is broken, Hal, what am I going to do?"
"I know I was never around for you as a child, but let me be here now"
"I put in a good word for you at the station in case you want your job back"
"Thanks but no, I didn't really like it there anyway"
"Okay, well there is one thing you have to let me do for you. For you and this precious life you have in your belly"
"I'm giving you my house!"
The house! Wow! Jane didn't know what to think of that. She had a house. She liked her house. Her house was not meant for a family though. Hal's house has 2 bedrooms, a garage, and a fenced in yard. Perfect for a woman with a child. Jane decided to accept, not that Hal was giving her the option to refuse.
As soon as she said 'yes', Hal knew he could let go. He had been holding onto life only for the purpose of redeeming himself in his daughter's eyes. Goodbye Hal.

*I know, I feel bad for Jane. But things get better. She LOVES being a mom!
Jane was in love with Tina. She was tiny and perfect. She looked so much like Titus, she could stare at her forever. She had worried that the reminder of her lost love would be too painful, but it turned out to be more like a celebration of their love every day. The fears of her mothering ability disappeared the instant she held Tina in her arms. She knew she would be nothing like her own mother. Becoming a mother herself gave her new found perspective and therefore some sympathy. She was at last able to forgive her mother. Not because Constance deserves forgiveness but because Jane deserves to be free of the burden of resentment.
Constance never got to meet her granddaughter. Jane never even called to tell her she'd had the baby. But when news of her mothers death reached her, she allowed her to be buried next to her father on the family plot. It seemed right somehow.
Jane stayed home with Tina until her first birthday. The house was paid for and she had no debt, thanks to Titus's life ins. She went all out for Tina's birthday and invited everyone she knew.
Tina sure knew how to make herself heard!

Aunt Joan even came by from time to time. Having raised two of her own, she had some wisdom to share....along with news of her own

OMG thanks so much for the pictures! As soon as I seen the waterfalls I went "They have waterfalls now for the pool!!!" My mom just looked at me like I was insane. The Mosaics are beyond pretty. Yay a slide! I would love to get this EP but it will be a looong time before I have the extra money.
Loulou got promoted to Editor-In-Chef and one year later her greatest dream (LTW) came true, she was promoted to Star News Anchor. This was a reason to party! As soon as Loulou called, Emilian went to see her. He wanted to be the first to congratulate her personally!

So far they never spoke about the subject but, for Loulou, Emilian would be the perfect father. He has a child already for he had been married once. Loulou could observe how much love he gives to his daughter. But.. would he want another child??
One day she took the courage and asked him. “Yes, my love. I had been wondering when you’d ask me. Are we going to marry, would you be my wife?”

Ah so he's a child already Blossom just turned into an YA so now Anastasia can go on tours. Though I tried sending a request got and error and then my game refused to go off pause. It was working I could click move the camera just not unpause it. *shrugs*
Loulou was attacked by sharks. She got out of water, didn't die. But she act strangely, was very hungry but wouldn't eat. I tried to help her, using the cheats and... killed her

A few weeks later, Loulou was sitting in a taxi, heading to the airport. She asked to be transferred to another city and, of course got it.

Emilian and Loulou are having a really good time together. They have a few things in common... both have the genius and commitment issues traits.

And took a long time until they were able to go over their traits. Until, one day, Loulou just kissed him.

And they have been together since them. Of course, things don't go always well... Loulou is hot headed and doesn't understand his jokes all the time... But Emilian knows her temperament by now and knows how to “get her back”.

Jane is a strong woman. The most the world (a world named Vuneca) is hurts her, the stronger she gets. I like her a lot. She is a fighter. And she has a good taste also. The house looks beautiful after the reform!

Constance never got to meet her granddaughter. Jane never even called to tell her she'd had the baby. But when news of her mothers death reached her, she allowed her to be buried next to her father on the family plot. It seemed right somehow.
Jane stayed home with Tina until her first birthday. The house was paid for and she had no debt, thanks to Titus's life ins. She went all out for Tina's birthday and invited everyone she knew.
Tina sure knew how to make herself heard!

Aunt Joan even came by from time to time. Having raised two of her own, she had some wisdom to share....along with news of her own

Jane spent ALL her free time with Tina, she had after all, gotten another job, This time at the school house across the street. Motherhood had given her new worries. And the one at the top of the list was little Tina's education

Loulou got promoted to Editor-In-Chef and one year later her greatest dream (LTW) came true, she was promoted to Star News Anchor. This was a reason to party! As soon as Loulou called, Emilian went to see her. He wanted to be the first to congratulate her personally!

She spend more time there then at her own place. He asked her to come live with him but she still didn’t overcome her commitment issues. Nevertheless, she has been thinking a lot about having a baby. So far they never spoke about the subject but, for Loulou, Emilian would be the perfect father. He has a child already for he had been married once. Loulou could observe how much love he gives to his daughter. But.. would he want another child??
One day she took the courage and asked him. “Yes, my love. I had been wondering when you’d ask me. Are we going to marry, would you be my wife?”

This was absolutely not what Emilian expected but he didn’t want to lose her. He said yes, hoping she’d change her mind when the baby arrives.

Soon Loulou got pregnant. She spent almost the whole pregnancy home. She couldn’t stay longer than 10 minutes at Emilian’s place without feeling sick.

It's a boy! his name, Armand. Both parents are very happy. The baby boy looks like his father. Again, Emilian proposes Loulou. Once more the answer is no.

Loulou was attacked by sharks. She got out of water, didn't die. But she act strangely, was very hungry but wouldn't eat. I tried to help her, using the cheats and... killed her
Now I don't know what to do. Shall I quit game without saving or shall I go on? So far, I was able to place the kid with the father. But everybody is soo sad...
Oh no! Its all up to you one what you want to do. I'm sorry to hear about Loulou dying though.
