Cherelle’s Fresh Start Build Comp

Hey everyone!
I’m currently bored of the lots in my town & am going to completely sweep it all & fill it with newness!! It got me thinking, “hey, why not make this fun & have a competition?!!”

There are 2 categories to this competition, the residential lot & the community lot. Each part has its own prizes & you can enter either or both. It is possible for one person to win both. If you’re interested in taking part just read the posts below & use the entry form underneath. Please use multiple forms for multiple entries. Closing date has been extended to 17th May 2pm GMT & winners will be announced later that day.

Residential lot


I am happy for you to design with whatever sort of theme you like HOWEVER I will be completely honest & tell you that I do not like drab/Victorian/gothic looking houses. I’m not saying it has to be majorly colourful or that grey & black shouldn’t be used, just that houses should be welcoming & not remind you of a dungeon.

If you would like to build a residential lot you can choose from the following:

a) starter home
b) family house
c) lap of luxury
d) farmhouse
e) apartment
f) bachelor/bachelorette pad
g) the occults lair
h) If you would like to make another please either send me an email or comment on the forum for approval

You can choose either of these lot sizes but please make sure that they work with the lot you are building. For example no starter homes on lot sizes bigger than 30 x 30.

25 x 25
30 x 30
40x40
60 x 60
64 x 64

Community Lot

I am after a few different types of community lots:

a) bustling shopping district (with supermarket, spa, bookstore etc all on one lot) – must be at least 40 x 40 sized
b) community garden
c) fire station
d) consignment store/elixir consignment store
e) community pool
f) gym
g) cemetery
h) park
i) coffee shop
j) salon
k) junkyard
l) bar
m) club
n) arcade
o) bowling alley
p) wedding lot
q) horse ranch

These can be on any lot sizes you like.

Rules

1. You can enter up to 3 times per category.

2. Any creations entered MUST be your own.

3. New builds only please.

4. CC can be used but only if it is clean. Everything will be screened with custard & anything that has the potential to mess with my game will be disqualified.

5. All and any expansion packs can be used.

6. All stuff packs except 70s, 80s & 90s can be used.

7. All store items can be used.

8. No more than 5 screenshots to be used posted on this thread, if you intend on using more then please make a new thread & link.

9. If you would like your entry kept private please post your entry form here but then send me an email (on my profile under about me) with any links or pictures etc.

10. Be nice to each other

Scoring and Prizes!!

Scores will be out of a total of 25 broken down below. Each is marked out of 5.

Floor plan (room placement / building layout)
Exterior (landscaping)
Décor (the use of buy objects inside & outside, colour schemes including walls & carpets)
Overall look (how everything comes together)
Compliance (have you stuck to the rules?)

Each category will have a 1st place, 2nd place and honourable mention with the same prizes.

1st place – full studio recs & 1000 simpoints (or if in another country 1000sp worth of items on wishlist)

2nd place – ½ studio recs & 500sp worth of wishlist items

Honourable mention – studio rec on competition entry & 100sp worth of wishlist items

I've decided that if this competition gets enough attention & all the lots on my list get built & entered then there will be a bonus prize. The winner of the bonus prize will be completely picked at random just to show that I appreciate everyones hard work even if you don't place

Is there a specific world you plan to tear down so I can build to that theme?
I haven't decided yet but I'm going to incorporate bits from different worlds so pick whatever theme you like.

I haven't decided which world to go for yet but either way I'm going to interpret different parts of each world in to it anyway so choose whichever theme you like best.

Is there a specific town that you plan to tear down? Then I could build to match that town's style. Also can I suggest a new type of house: After-starter. It's that type that is affordable for sims that want something more than a starter home but can't have the amazing stuff yet

I'm definitely bookmarking this - not sure if I'll have time, but if I do I'll most likely do a residential lot!

nerdy - I haven't decided which world yet but I'm definitely going to incorporate lots of different themes in different parts of the world so pick whichever you want. Unfortunately it cannot be something that has already been built as I don't think that's really fair on other entrants but I'll definitely have a look through your studio.

aricarai - I must admit, I'd love to live in the states & holiday in the US quite often, must be nice experiencing living in both. I hope you get time to enter! & np!

With a instant sense of beauty when you step onto this lot how could your sim not come out looking better then before? With a relaxing waiting area outback amongst water the chi in this place swells purity back into your simmys pours. (I have customized just about every detail of the salon in hopes you all will love it! happy simming)
