Beowolf7773- I love the red, white and blue theme! This home is just adorable. The scale looks accurate too.

edit: I had to go back and look again to see the pool, and I am so glad that I did. That was very creative and patriotic! I'm going to use this idea in the future for my own lots, good job!

Greenowl77 thank you so much. It is the first contest I have entered, so I am pretty nervous. The only cheat I know is moveObjects. I am process of building another where the back half is buried and haven't been successful yet.

There are many useful cheats. Some are very temperamental though. If you want to learn more of them I suggest that you watch some videos and experiment with clean lots that you are not attached to, also- save all the time. I cannot stress this enough. Especially when dealing with the elevation cheats.

Love the entry, Beowolf, but this link is not taking me to a media display. We judge solely from media for this challenge (not all of our judges will have all the SPs, EPs, and Store Content that you might use), so a comprehensive slideshow of some sort is key :)

Beowolf: when you take pictures in game (hotkey c), they are automatically saved to the launcher. Then in the launcher you they are under the uploads menu. Select them all and click upload. They'll be in your studio then, so you can make them into a story. You can also upload your media to photobucket or another image sharing website and post that link. Your pictures will be in the Electronic Arts/Sims3 Folder, wherever you saved that, under Screenshots.

    FYI Group:

IF you go to the Sims store, on the left there is a button that says "Bonus Points". Basically, you have to watch 30 second ads and afterwards you will automatically get 10 points. You can do this five times for a total of 50 points. Seems like you can do this every day until its over...yeah, thanks! Every now and then some things in Sim life are free!

    P.S.
Pass it on, and come back and let us know if it works for you.....

We edited to add a link to media in story mode to give all the pictures we uploaded. Let me know if this works. Thank you for your help.

PhoenixRyder - Thank you for your suggestion. We just got it done.

BTW....Which expansion pack did the stilts come in? When we did the Beach Blanket Bingo challenge I wanted to do a Galveston style stilt home but couldn't ever get the columns to cooperate.

I believe it's a new foundation type that came with the latest patch.

If the patch doesn't come with the stilts I also realized i had the stilts when i downloaded Monte Vista and Hidden Springs.

    OPTIONAL CHALLENGE: N/A

    LEVEL: Intermediate

LOT SIZE ADDRESS & FINAL COST: 30x30 built in Sunset Valley 2 $78,000

LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: I built this house with an artist who likes to rally people and protest. you know fight the good fight! the house is a remodeled cottage. The starving artist motif is everywhere you turn from the mismatched decor to the lower end appliances. Lots of spray-painted pieces like the patio table. This artist has a thrift-tore chic touch. I hope you enjoy my first floor-plan build!

jennytru- Great job on this build. I could really get a feel for the owner of this home. It had a great lived in look which I absolutely enjoyed.

jennytru- You are absoultely right, the stilts came with the latest update. They are found under foundations. Originally I was going to do a dark wood tone house with a green roof, but it looked to mountain like and not enough beach like. Unfortunately I had already done so much work before I realized that you can't recolor the stilts. There are three versions I wish I would have used the concrete ones because they would have matched the home more- but there was NO WAY I was going back after FINALLY getting the pool to go .

Greenowl - First off, I just waned to say how fantastic your build is! A tremendous inspiration for those of us who are still trying out amd tweaking our building skills. Unfortunately, mine looks really similar, so I'm going to play around with it more.

If the pool is on a stilted foundation...I found for me,if I build on a flat lot, the pool goes in easy on a stilted foundation. Also, you can level the terrain to be flat in the area you want (if you had already placed the lot in water). Then, just build the pool and relevel the terrain when done.

Edit: typing on an iPad is harder! So many spelling mistakes!

blinky47j- The pool was an afterthought for me which is why I had to fight with it a bit to get in where I wanted it to go. If your build is similar that's totally okay. I would not worry about that as this challenge is based on a floor plan which does cause our builds to be similar no matter what we do. Also the foundation seems to allow recoloration now that IP is out. Odd but okay. I am not bothering to adjust the color since I have already uploaded the lot.

Thanks! I was going for a "grad-student" feel. The person that lives in my house is into art and saving the world! =)

I have rec'd all entries! Great job everyone! It's really cool what we all created based off of the floor plan. I enjoyed this assignment =)

LOT SIZE ADDRESS & FINAL COST: 14 Clover Drive, Dragon Valley 20x20, $72,706

LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: Not so Medieval. I wanted to attempt a build that would look right for Dragon Valley. Being creative with the roof is difficult for me. I was attempting a medieval castle type roof not actually adding a room so I don't know if what I did is allowed. Also, the media will show a troll I built with Spore hidden in the front right bush. A friend created a pack file but I couldn't upload it with the actual lot so the lot to download doesn't include the troll. Also, I realized the tubs were in the wrong direction so I fixed this and took screen shots. They are in the right direction in the upload. Having problem with my mouse and it's difficult getting shots. Hope what I've done is ok.

Cbn036- Lovely medieval home. My favorite part was the violin stage! So cute. I also like the pattern in the children's room could you post a link to it?

I have never entered one of these challenges before. Exactly how do I save my work and post it somewhere so that I can share it? I'm not new to the Sims, but I have never done anything outside of just playing in the game. I've never used the exchange before, or shared any of my stuff.
