I don't really need it, I don't really miss anything (but would love if teens looked younger). What I am missing is a life stage between adult and elderly so that my near elderly NPCs don't all have kids the day before their birthday.
Moreover, I advise that the cart button must be destroyed!
Life stages should NEVER be inclusive to a paid DLC... that's ridiculous!
Besides, we really don't need any more life stages in this game... we already have way too many as it is... plus, another life stage will likely just extend the overall lifespans of our Sims... it's bad enough that the infant update dramatically increased the adults to live for over 200 days...
Pre-teens coming in a pack would be ridiculous, especially since toddlers and infants already came in a base game update. Though obviously with infants the major portion of gameplay is locked behind the expansion pack...
I guess I'd be fine with pre-teens in an update, granted they come with good gameplay. It would make sense (imo) to have more pre-adulthood lifestages, since humans tend to change very drastically between 0-18 years old, compared to 20-40 for example.
Though with pre-teens they would need substantial gameplay not tied to a pack in order to feel worthwhile. I would also like to have more updates to teens, but if an entire expansion pack dedicated to teenagers isn't enough then idk if anything will ever be at this point.
I have no interest in pre teens even existing, but whatever pack they possibly come in will almost certainly have gameplay features I'll like so I'll get it anyway. I'd much rather have a life state before/after Elder.
I don't care about preteens and I 100% sure won't pay a single euro just for them. I can't imagine what else the pack needs to offer to attract me, as family gameplay is way down in my list of interests. The same reason I am never gonna get Growing together pack - I see no point in spending money on features that would unneccessarily complicate things for me.
If preteens would come in a patch, I would have no choice than to accept the addition, but personally, I would be perfectly happy if preteens never came around Sims 4
You shouldn't need to buy a pack to have a lifestage at this point.
I would definitely buy a pack centered around this lifestage after it is introduced in a patch. We have elementary and high school, I think we should have middle school without a mod.
I don't want any more life stages. I'd gladly see some more features to make say the start of the teenage stage feel different from the ending. For adults and elders i's easier to make the transfer smoothly, by adding wrinkles or making the bald etc, before they are due to age. This is harder for the kids-teen transfer.
It's more so that teens could use a height adjustment. I wish we could notice height transitions for children during kid and teen life stage's. The sims would get taller but it wouldn't happen on their birthday. It could be something that happens after sleeping and the family could notice they got taller.
since i don't play a lot with children, i would just buy the pack if i liked the rest of the pack (world\build\buy) i think there are already a lot activities for children. i didn't miss anything when i played them.
I totally would! Especially if it came with a height slider and something similar to the High School Years hair growing feature but with height growing over time instead of instantly. I also just feel like the younger kids are really fleshed out where we have a lot of content for them, but the older kids/teens are just kind of empty, like they go from kids to adults which is just weird to me 😅😅
I CAN NOT BELIEVE I DIDNT SEE THIS THREAD HECKS YEAH I WILL BUY A PRETEEN PACK!!! ALL DAY ERR DAY!!! GIVE ME THE PACK PLEASE @Gurus please and thank you. Along with a free patch for Preteens to be in the game!!!
Nah. Making a lifestage exclusive to an EP would create a lot of problems (My First Pet stuff kind of deal) and I definitely would not advocate the practise by buying such an EP. Also gotta say I just really don't care about pre-teens. I would rather they had done current teenagers differently instead of adding another life stage. Still, if they were planning adding them then it most definitely should be in a patch.
Depends what they did with it. The children look 8-12 years of age so they're already preteen to me. Instead I'd want an early teen stage of 13-16, mainly. The teens look far too old for that age and the children look far too young for it. This isn't a suggestion or a request, just thoughts! I just don't like how kids go from looking 10 to 17. Considering it's a game about raising tiny virtual people, the fact there aren't more life stages with a variety of things that happen in those life stages, I find a bit odd.
To me, the life stages would be...
Newborn: 0-5 months - tiny screamer
Infant: 8-12mths - slightly larger tiny crawler
Toddler: 2-3y - omg it's properly mobile now
Child: 5-7y - first years of school
Then...
Preteen: 8-12y - pubescent nightmare approaching
Early teen: 13-15y - hates everything
Late teen: 16-18y - can't wait to move out
And finally...
Young adult: 21-28y - moved out
Adult: 30-40y - making their own messy lives
"Midlife crisis": 45+ - when the kids are telling their parents they're "not leaving the house wearing that"
Retirement: 65+ - grandkids galore
Elders: 80+ - one foot in the grave
But I understand that kinda thing would be a lot to add to the game, and again they're only my silly little thoughts!
Two of my Sims are going to be grandparents soon, first time I've ever had grandparent Sims, but they're adults and the one expecting is obviously a young adult, and I don't want the grandparents-to-be to become elders yet, so not having extra life stages between young adult and elder is also kind of annoying.
Having said all this, I just change their outfits and their looks to suit how old I see them, so having another life stage isn't really necessary to me. Would be cool but *shrug* not really fussed overall.
I hope that they have all these stages you mentioned in sims 5 from the beginning so we can get clothes for each of the younger groups from the beginning.
I know it makes sense to add another pre-teen life stage. But personally, I don't play with children or teens very often, sometimes yes, but usually young adult and adult households so I definitely would not buy it as a pack. If, it should be a patch, I guess, but I honestly care more about other game updates than this one.

We need a stage between the child and older teen stage. Middle school age would be perfect.
PLEASE FIX TEENS IN TS4! I NEED YOUNGER TEENS NOT YA TEENS! (^_^)Please add Music Bands with lead singers! Please add vehicles and garages! Vehicles have always been part of The Sims.
I fully agree that there is some work to be done on the teen to elder ages. I’d rather see a mature adult life stage - dealing with empty-nesting issues, extra savings because everything is finally paid for, fun with grandchildren (including sleepovers or vacations at grandparents’ home), outings, new skills, time for long-service vacations, special retirement event and benefits… time for them to rediscover themselves as individuals and revive the romance as couples. So much in gameplay possibilities. Then I’d like to see the elders age given some attention at the moment they are just tokens with no real purpose. Once again, the mind boggles at the possible extra gameplay this could provide - bingo, arranged elder group outings, lawn bowls, medical appointments with various specialists that sends elder home with possible complications and maybe some life aids eg walking sticks/frames, special shoes (eg for correcting foot drop) etc, and maybe a very special celebration if they achieve great-grandparent status. There are just so many possibilities - many of which are available in the mod world if the developers and bosses need some inspiration or guidance!
I would so love a proper Middle-Ager (age 45 to 59) Adult full lifestate in Base, because the Adult lifestate is just 30 to 40 only.
Then a new teen (age 13 to 15) lifestate in Base.

When I make my adults I view them as about 40 + I see young adults between about 20-35. Elders to me are like 65+. Some of my adult men are balding.

What do you feel your missing game play wise that an adult Sim cannot play as a 45-59 year old? The only thing I ever feel I need to play adults as older is walk styles but besides the vampire walk they seem to have no interest at all in ever adding more of those since base game release.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

I see young adults as 20-40 years old and adults as 40-60 years old. Elders are 60+ years old.
