@erimurphey Careful when scolding fans, Melinda's reputation may be at risk. If she's got Pristine, she will get a phone call from a friend, cautioning her. LOL
Alright! So I'm fiddling with the changes I want to make to the Ultimate Decades challenge for my post-apoc playthrough. So far, I rolled for "outsiders." I gave myself a change to have 0 - 5 individual sims to start with, and rolled three. That's solid. Well, I used two of those slots to add a pair of sims to my game before the Calamity hits.
In other words, the situations is this. There is something sinister in the air in Henford on Bagley. People are on edge... waiting for... something, no one knows what. It is like the calm before a storm. And in this time, two young teenagers have been sighted, hanging around the national park at the Isle of Volpe.
Their names are Bonnie Rowell and Evan Morrison... ((both sims downloaded from the Gallery, made by very talented folks and only slightly altered by myself)) ...and no one quite knows what is the deal with them. A few sims thought to go see why they are at the park so often, if they are not runaways from somewhere and whether or not they should call social services... but those who actually went over and tried to investigate invariably suddenly realized they had very important tasks elsewhere that simply could not wait. Overall, so far as anyone knows, the kids just like to play around at the park... or they just come by so that the girl can buy her wool. Bonnie obviously likes to knit and the locals are all over her creations.
As I'm sure you could already tell, there is more to it than that.
By now, the two actually live at the park, all on their own, in a very simple little hut that they made together. Evan is responsible for the walls and ceiling, Bonnie for the thatch.
The two have grown up in an isolated group of people who distances themselves from the modern world and now, they have been sent by their village elders to settle a new land because "the time of hiding is over" and "those who had been lost lost shall need guides to return to the true path." The two young people do not concern themselves with all of that very much just yet, though. They are simply establishing their own little homestead, the way they have been taught to.
The place is simple, but they want for nothing.
Both Evan and Bonnie forage a lot, only Bonnie tends to stick closer to home.
That would be because someone needs to watch the garden! Bonnie is an animal enthusiast and when, not if, foxes show up, she has an easier time convincing them not to carry away their precious veggies. That, and she hopes to be able to convince the local bunnies to help out soon.
Gardening is not an easy job this season, the soil is yet tough and unused to being worked. Bonnie is a tough gal, though and does a magnificent job!
Speaking of tough, Evan spent a lot of this week healing, because he had been attacked by a bear while out hunting!
Bonnie had her hands full with him for a bit there.
But he will pull through okay, not even keeping any scars.
How? Well... see, there is another reason why Evan is the one putting himself at risk, outside of Bonnie's way with the animals and Evan certainly being a young gentleman. He... had been granted a gift that Bonnie does not have.
The blessing of the Fae.
Evan is an apt spellcaster and has taken to the secrets of Magic readily despite having no one in the family with a similar gift... he can already scramble the minds of those who would cause himself and Bonnie trouble.
Well, by now the pair have been through a lot together and they get along swimmingly... they are yet too young to visit the Spiral together, but both of them have already woven handfasting bracelets in secret, hoping to exchange them the very day after their sixteenth name days.
...
And that would be for the sweet part. Now, time for the actual Calamity to happen.
@DaniRose2143 thank you! 💐 For me one of the big advantages in this forum is the 'latest' function. So I can read many stories at once and the forum leads me just to the post where I stopped reading. I really appreciate that.
When I miss story posts on tumblr it's hard to jump in again when the author doesn't collect them under tags or in a chronological order.
Today we follow Ji Ho through the portal to the otherworld to find the horse.
Ji Ho's version is in Henford-on-Bagley where he forgets time even though the portal is overgrowing on the other side. And where he meets Genji, the vampire who attacked him almost one year ago. The full story post is ⏩ here in the forum.

@GalacticGal I’m not sure if it was mods or not, as others have had similar issues in the past and they didn’t use mods. Also it only affected Oliver, not his parents. And saving before exiting did change things, as did placing the family into a different save. I’m just happy everything seems to be working normally again.
Now the rest
This happened, I almost never get this death and they were heading out to woohoo in the treehouse.
They both mourned him and hugged a lot because that is what you do.
They were very glad when his spirit returned quickly, also I was surprised this worked, at least in my game this hasn't worked since they stopped doing the seasonal events with Jazmine Holiday.
Reddestiny921 on the gallery...still not sure if I capitalized the second d..lol
All the sims err'day
The breeze finally began to cool down as summer wrapped up and fall took over. Once again, schedules were busy. Erik released his twenty-ninth album to critical acclaim. Jamison was busy finishing up his final term in Uni. How the boy managed to juggle so much made him wonder. Then he smiled. I managed to the bewilderment of others. Arriving back home from another gig, he noticed some filming was going on just outside of his front gates. I don’t recall giving such permission . . .
“Alright, Jamison, in this scene you are boiling hot angry. This guy has been harassing your girl. You love her, and she is in tears. Hurt and looking to you for support. I want you to slap the guy silly.”
“You really want me to clobber him? What if I break his jaw or something?”
“Well, not that hard, just make it look hard, okay?”
After the shoot, Jamison came inside and practiced singing. He read somewhere that movies often required singing and or dancing. He decided he would get good at both. The grown up, deep voice that resonated through the karaoke machine almost startled him. Is that me?
Erik posed for a couple of photos and then went inside.
Needing to winddown a bit, he took a moment to juggle his soccer ball before he went in. Ever mindful of being a good example to his kids, who once called him on juggling in the house.
Kayleigh was rushing about in the kitchen. The family was coming over to partake of the Thanksgiving Feast together. Somehow, what used to be yearly had fallen away. Erik decided it was time to do a reset. So, he and Kayleigh decided they’d be first on the normal rotation.
As the various family members wandered in, the aroma of roast turkey filled the house. Erik used the Chef’s Stove to bake a blueberry pie. Not quite traditional, but sadly this year his crop of pumpkins failed. . .
Taking his role of Host to heart, Erik meandered through his house. “I’m going to have to get a bigger place,” he teased. Stuffed in like sardines.
Food was plentiful. Besides the turkey, they served up roast chicken and various other dishes.
Cadence was placed into her highchair and Kayleigh gave her a serving of turkey. Unfortunately, her little Picky eater would have none of it. “It’s yucky,” she complained, after only a bite.
“Oh, Daddy,” Kayleigh said to Captain Drake Golden. “I don’t know what to do with her. She’s so picky.” At this Drake began to chuckle.
“She’s your daughter. You were so very picky, too, we thought you would starve to death.”
“What did you do? I love a wide variety of foods, now.”
“Just what you’re doing. Keep exposing her to different things. Eventually, she’ll come around.”
“Oh, but that mournful face . . .”
“Same as yours, sweetheart. Same as yours.”
As the evening grew late, the family chatted, ate, drank and got caught up with each other.
Friendly debates were had, one Genius to another.
The discussion so intriguing that some of the grandkids decided to join in. Harmony and her cousin, Seraj, two halves of both sets of identical twins.
@GalacticGal Oh, she's already gotten quite a few calls from friends, ha ha.
These are the Rox sisters. Margot is the one behind the bar and Rita is the one sitting down. They know their drinks! Rita wants to be a nectar expert and her sister wants to be a master mixologist.
Margot has sworn off making grilled cheese sandwiches ever again. That's what she gets for trying to have them for breakfast.
Jamison abruptly sat up in bed, throwing the covers off of his legs. “Oh, man, it’s late. I’m late. I have a final test today!” With that the Teen went into scramble mode, he ran a quick brush over his pearly-whites, raked a comb through his platinum locks, pulled pants and a shirt over himself and ran out of the front door. Arriving at Britechester-U building A, room 23, he panted. “Sorry to be late,” he said, sliding into his seat. Glancing at the timepiece on the wall, clearly there was a full hour left to the class. Yet the Professor hadn’t issued him his code to access the test on his laptop.
“Nice to know you’re apologetic, at least, but you’ve missed the test, son. I cannot allow you to take it, now, there simply is no time.”
“What? Sir, there’s an entire hour,” Jamison gestured to the timepiece on the wall. “I studied nearly all night for this. I’m here. I could have easily blown the whole thing off and stayed in bed. But I didn’t. I’m here. Please allow me to take the test.”
“No. Consider it a life-lesson. I know your type. You’re famous and so you think you should be allowed undue consideration. All of your classmates managed to get here on time.”
“My grandfather —”
“Professor Cantrell would tell you the exact same thing. In fact, he failed a few celebrities in his tenure. He was one tough cookie. He believed education came before all else. Fame was fleeting, he used to say. Education was a building block to greater things. Besides, he’s retired these days. I do believe he’s trying his hand as a Stand-Up Comedian. You just can never tell with some people. Time, backup your test to the provided flash drive. Class dismissed.” As the students placed their tiny flash drives into his palm, Professor Carlton, eyes on Jamison, smirked. “I do believe you have another class, do you not? Mister Celebrity. Or is it your academic strategy to miss all the final tests?”
*~~*~~*~~*~~*
A frustrated Jamison Cantrell arrived home again about the same time as his siblings. The only thing that made this final day of school for him, was in knowing he was done. Today, family and friends would gather around while he placed his tile on the Avenue of the Stars. Waiting for his grades to post took ages. Watching the chronometer proved painful, too. Feeling suspended in time, he thought the numbers on the clock were stuck.
Finally, his dad walked in through the front door from his concert and the photoshoot. “Everybody ready?” he said.
“Just waiting for my grades to post.” A moment later his cell pinged. “Ah, here we go. A+; B; A+ and A+. Not bad. Just not great.”
“That gives you a solid A for the term. I’m proud of you,” Erik said, placing a hand on his son’s shoulder. “Come on, I told the family to be down there at five.”
*~~*~~*~~*~~*
Normally warm in Del Sol Valley, a breeze came off of the ocean. A chilly breeze. The family dressed appropriately for the weather. Finally, the crowd assembled and the Director of the Event gave the word.
“I’ve seen that look before,” Joseph Cantrell said.
The tile was heavy.
And he placed it ever so carefully.
At last, it was in place. Sparkles floated up in the air as the tile fell into the groove.
“We’re heading over to The Olde Home Place in Willow Creek, if anyone wants to join us,” Erik said.
*~~*~~*~~*~~*
The fact that it was Night on the Town was something Erik failed to recall. For his own family, Jamison had just graduated Uni, became a Global Superstar and so a celebration was in order. The place was buzzing. Erik was happy to take the long table on the main floor. Recognizing just how many were in his party, he made certain to compensate the restaurant.
Erik stood up,and then reached for his glass. “Please allow me to say a few words. Today is special for a few things. My eldest child, my son, has graduated university, got his grades. Tomorrow, he does the walk. A few days ago, after he filmed yet another movie, he gained Global Superstardom. To my dear Jamison, I pray you’ll find the success you seek and that you never allow it to go to your head. Please, remember who you are and from Whom your gifts came. Always.”
Taking his seat again, they all drank to the toast just made. No matter what beverage they had.
Once again Jamison untangled his feet from the bed coverings to climb out of bed. He took a nice shower, brushed his teeth and selected just which suit he was going to wear under his robe.
Back at home, Jamison found the Paparazzi just waiting for him. He had a new appreciation of what his father goes through and had for years, now.
“Look this way,” one called out. Jamison stopped and posed.
Of course I ended up playing with the Carter-Hayeses again, I had to get going with the Royal Family mod! Everything seems to be working, the family are just getting used to the Royal Palace, and I need to get used to the mod and how everything works. I built a full royal palace as their main residence, and they've also got holiday homes in Sulani and Mt Komorebi. I need to build a couple more things, too, such as a church I can use for coronations/weddings/etc.
P.1220 I get understand Arun’s reason for not giving. It’s just funny he asked why he needed the money when they had just said they owe someone dangerous.
P.1221 Ah Good to know! Wasn’t expecting him to have to give up his shirt, thought he was going to be asked to give up Little Goat. So happy he didn’t, nor do I think he’d ever resort to that.
P.12221 Haha thanks for the tour! Is the door between the two windows in the Dining Room from a pack or is it maybe cc? Great job with the build! Almost looks like the real one!
Hey everyone! I have been playing Willow Creek, but being a chronic rotational player. I got bored and moved on to Windenberg lol.
The Silversweater Coven
I dropped in on Windenberg’s Wizarding family, the Silversweaters! This is my version of Simeon Silversweater. He’s basically the same, but started working out and I swapped his snob trait for genius. Simeon retired as Sage of Practical Magic ages ago. In my head canon, Sages are not allowed to marry and start families during their tenure as Sage. But Simeon fell in love with his younger protege, Rachel Beauchamp. They settled down and started a family.
Farm
Not much happened. I was basically focusing on rebuilding their lot. They have a garden
Some livestock Shadowfax
And a unicorn! His name is Shadowfax.
Simeon quickly developed a fear of horses. But outdoorsy Rachel loves riding Shadowfax
Simeon works as a freelance programmer, but he recently picked up nectar making. Rachel has a history degree and can authenticate Selvadoradan artifacts. So she supports the family financially by authenitcating artifacts sent to her by Simsonian Institute.
The Next Generation
Simeon and co. moved back into his family home after his sister Myla Munch and nephew Gunther died during a blizzard (oops lol). They raised her 2 younger kids along with their own children. Yes they all have Star Trek theme names I'm a shameless Trekkie I know lol
They have 3, Janeway the youngest.
Picard, the middle child who is a total geek like his parents
And Kirk the eldest, a teen.
Kirk
Kirk recently entered high school. Kirk is definitely feeling the pressure to succeed. He’s the eldest son and will inherit the family home. He also has to fill his father’s magical boots. Simeon never ceases to remind him of this
Or his mother.
But she helps him with his homework and extra credit science projects
Simeon also has been training him on his magical skills
He finally learned his first spell. And was able to cast it without causing a fire! (Repairo). So Simeon and Rachel took him to the Realm of Magic. They got him his first wand and broom.
He finally got an A! Kirk decided to celebrate by joining his friends at the local movie theater. I have a Windenberg teen club that meets there.
They were excited about the latest horror movie
Kirk has been flirting with Angela (or Anna?) a mermaid, and a daughter of one of the most successful land owners in Windenberg.
Wolfgang and the Girls
I left the Silversweaters on a good note and dropped in on Wolfgang Munch for a few days. He spent his teen years in his Uncle Simeon’s household. And he actually turned out really well! He went to university and now works in business. He moved out to a new set of condonminiums out in New Lyyke Center in downtown Windenberg.
But he still has a wild streak, and enjoys hitting the club with his roommates, Vidalia Shallot and Morgan Fyres.
DJ Suul was headlining.
They had fun
They also like to get coffee at the local cafe
Wolfgang and Morgan have a bit of a romance going on
I have more but haven’t had time to type it all up yet! I’ve been lurking on the forums and reading everyone’s posts. Love what y’all have been posting! I’ll leave some likes and awesomes and make comments tomorrow. Till next time!
Happy thanksgiving to Cantrells ! But but.. is that one guest Babs?? Sure looks a LOT like her. The one with JA ponytail. Or I have played too much with her during years
Congrats to Jamison for graduating!
Your Simeon looks great!Good idea with the sage marriage rule
My love, my love, my fearless love, I will not say goodbye..
Sea may rise, sky may fall, My love will never die..
My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried

I love this game but there are times where it just drives me mad. I used MCCC to increase the household size to 25 so that I could comfortably add the main cast and their parents. Done and done, no problems, everybody's relationships and introductions all out of the way. But the game still had a nasty surprise waiting when I went into Split and Merge Households. I can't split the household into smaller ones one at a time because the main household I'm splitting them off from is still over the eight sim limit if I do.
Ok, fine, I'll make two eight sim households and then split and merge from there. Except I had 18 sims so I still had one household over the limit.
Ok, fine, I'll go into CAS and delete Allegra, and Darian's newly created mom Erica, since they were the only single sims. Here we go again with that eight sim limit, that's all CAS will display and Allegra and Erica weren't among the eight it was showing. I had Danielle and Londyn, Darian and Summer, Matteo and Liberty, and Londyn's parents.
Ok, fine, I'll delete Ebony and Lewis. The game strikes again. When I deleted them the game also deleted everyone else who wasn't displayed in CAS. All the parents, Allegra, gone. The only remaining sims were the three couples that make up the heart of the story. Everyone else disappeared into the ether. I exited without saving in hopes of finding a workaround to salvage my work. I've looked through MCCC for an option to split and merge households but couldn't find one. Of course as frustrated as I was I may have overlooked it. I'm down to searching for another mod to handle this or I have a couple of other ideas, but those ideas all require starting all over again.😞
Like I said at the beginning, I still love this game, but these limits are so irritating.😠
@DaniRose2143 I have my max household size at 10, and usually stay under that. But sometimes it’s funny when you go into Manage Worlds and you come across a household with one single Sim and eight or nine pets. That’s the case with one of the waitresses employed at the Wilson family’s restaurant, she lives alone in Oasis Springs with nine dogs. Neighbourhood Stories can go a little crazy.
Has anyone else had an issue with a Sim randomly gaining the “thalassophobia” moodlet, even when they’re nowhere near the ocean? Because that happens to poor Oliver Carter-Hayes. Now he’s a teenager, it’s triggered a fear of swimming twice. Even though he hasn’t been swimming for ages. I’m not normally bothered by the wants and fears system, but I’m tempted to disable it because of this. I don’t hugely mind the occasional scared moodlet because it disappears after a couple of hours. But the fear doesn’t go until you get that spiky whim that tells you how to get rid of the fear.
@Lucy_Henley I’ve seen that in my game too. It got so out of control I’ve modified NS to disable everything except moving in and the career options. Accidental death is on a sim by sim basis.🙂 I’m benevolent or a total b-word depending on which sim you ask.🤣
I had that moodlet pop up with Londyn on her honeymoon, and the strange thing was it always happened to her at the top of the ski slope in Mt. Komorebi.🤣
@DaniRose2143 normally I just disable accidental deaths and moving out, but with the new Carter-Hayes/royal save, I disabled animal adoption too, and I think a couple of other things too although I forget what.
it always happened to her at the top of the ski slope in Mt. Komorebi.🤣
Ocean of Snow?
My love, my love, my fearless love, I will not say goodbye..

My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried
Oh I may weep forevermore, My love will never die..
@_Gina Wow, very well done, well thought-out. I'm hooked and can't wait for more! Dare I call it intriguing? Yes, I dare.
@DreamPrincess I like how close the three siblings are. Fun updates. @sarabeth2984 Enjoyed your update. I, too, am a shameless Trekkie. Kirk is a quite the flirt, like his namesake.
Comments
@Moxovynka Thanks. I haven't decided if Jeremy will be a couch potato yet. It's interesting to see Eliza being such a doting wife.
Despite being a fashion blogger Melinda is super famous for painting. She threw a fan meet and greet today.
She was super upset that she couldn't get three of her fans to chat at the same time so she took it out on this unfortunate lady.

Class dismissed.” As the students placed their tiny flash drives into his palm, Professor Carlton, eyes on Jamison, smirked. “I do believe you have another class, do you not? Mister Celebrity. Or is it your academic strategy to miss all the final tests?”

What a day. Thanks for reading!

The Silversweater Coven
I dropped in on Windenberg’s Wizarding family, the Silversweaters! This is my version of Simeon Silversweater.
Farm
Not much happened. I was basically focusing on rebuilding their lot. They have a garden
Some livestock
Shadowfax
Simeon quickly developed a fear of horses. But outdoorsy Rachel loves riding Shadowfax
Simeon works as a freelance programmer, but he recently picked up nectar making. Rachel has a history degree and can authenticate Selvadoradan artifacts. So she supports the family financially by authenitcating artifacts sent to her by Simsonian Institute.
And Kirk the eldest, a teen.
Kirk recently entered high school. Kirk is definitely feeling the pressure to succeed.

Congrats to Jamison for graduating!

Sea may rise, sky may fall, My love will never die..
My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried
Oh I may weep forevermore, My love will never die..
Meanwhile Suzy's making plans and informing her husband, Neil, on a "need to know basis"

I had that moodlet pop up with Londyn on her honeymoon, and the strange thing was it always happened to her at the top of the ski slope in Mt. Komorebi.🤣
Ocean of Snow?
Sea may rise, sky may fall, My love will never die..
My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried
Oh I may weep forevermore, My love will never die..
Deep snow?🤔😁
Hello! I really like the makeovers you gave to the sims we know. And Shadowfax being an (almost?) black unicorn. That's just awesome.
@DreamPrincess I like how close the three siblings are. Fun updates.
@sarabeth2984 Enjoyed your update. I, too, am a shameless Trekkie. Kirk is a quite the flirt, like his namesake.
