Nice updates! I have a feeling Angie is gonna win!
It's her race to win, or lose.
The last thing to do was to have them all earn the dancing skill, since it has the breakdown of all the dances they know. It was only fair and helpful to have them all earn the dancing skill.
The Winner is... All of them!
Five wives for Cairo!
No, he would love that, but he still has to choose one.
I have to say I really enjoyed this challenge. Playing it was awkward as I was making it all up as I go. I will need to play it again to truly play it as it is meant to be played. Cairo is making a service call to celebrate the winner.
It really comes down to these two.
The outcome would most likely be different if I was starting over knowing all that I know now.
But wow, it got a little emodramatical ( yeah, I made that one up) as I began to compile the numbers. The scoring system is a bit complex on purpose, so I couldn't know for sure who was going to win. I really didn't know who had won it.
So... let's get on with it.
4th Runner up
Arlene really didn't have much of a chance. She came in late as I had a filtering system going on to weed out girls who were not right for Cairo. The way I want to play the challenge now requires the girl be there from the beginning. I still may have an elimination at the end of the farm stage and only send three on to the mansion. Sorry, Arlene.
3rd Runner up
The same can be said for Evelyn. I really liked her too.
2nd Runner up
Oh, sorry Frances. She flew under the radar a bit as I was playing her and her score should have been up in the twenties with more attention. Her inventions and upgrades were important, but not as much as Angie's science skills and Shirley's business management and nectar making support.
1st Runner up
Beauty, attraction, and smartness helped Angie rise to the top. This was a very close race and would have been a tie if I had not put more attention on the dance skill, but hey I love to see my sims dance. It was one of those categories that was added late. I now plan to have dance training start as soon as they move into the mansion whenever I play this challenge again.
So, Angie as 1st runner up of course means.... The Winner!
Shirley did not win this on looks, she won it on hard work and ambition.
Angie was a tough competitor for her, but she managed to win it in the end. I am happy with her win because I think Cairo really needs her and they just feel like a good pairing to me. She can keep him in check like when he wants to buy a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Bugatti Veyron. "You don't need a Bugatti Veyron!"
Congratulations, Shirley!
Now comes the painful part.
All these girls are love interests and that can't be allowed to continue.
The Fallout
I knew this challenge would be great for the winner, but really suck for the losers. They've built a great life here, but now will have to give it up. I figured that they would have learned a lot and have grown with the experience, but I felt bad for them all the same, especially with all this going on.
It was time for: Let's just be friends.
And the explosion that follows.
I'm not used to seeing Frances this angry--except when she's fighting with Shirley.
Good, the rest of them are in the same location.
She does not like what she's hearing.
I do wish there were nicer ways to end romantic relationships. I don't like it as a mean interaction.
Yeah, it can't be all happy happy, since it is a break up, but well...
He can console her. This is a competition and they all knew how it would end. They had a great time and learned a lot... all that stuff.
That's more like it.
Uh...
Actually it's not all that bad, after the initial flare up.
They have a lot of social lifetime rewards. No one is enemies. They are all still friends.
Except Shirley and Frances--Frances pulled that Berate Ignorance social way too many times.
Now for the hardest of all.
Angie.
Angie is the daughter of Amy Lee, and I had Cairo married to Amy in another life. Since Angie looks like a clone of her mother, I have a good idea of how their children will look. So, I don't mind her not winning as much. It would probably feel like a repeat of that other game.
[...]
Cairo can't stand to have her look at him with so much anger.
But she's coming around.
Whew!
To role play this, the other women would probably be hating on Shirley--especially in her prim and proper ice queen outfit.
Well, not a queen, more like a librarian. Perhaps she should go hide in the attic and hide for a while?
Nah, Shirley isn't the type to hide from anyone.
They have release their anger, now it's time for sadness.
Angie runs out to console Evelyn on the sidewalk.
She later has her own cry in the bathroom.
It all made a very sad night.
And then there were the long faces in the morning.
Aww... it's so sad, but this certainly should be expected and be the downside of this little reality show.
[Awkward]
Aww, Frances, first thing out of bed.
And then there are the inappropriate socials.
Flirting after all that has happened...
"What's wrong with you? You rejected me just last night!"
Ugh, Cairo is Juiced Up with all kinds of romantic and charismatic perks.
Now he's just plain creepy.
He deserves a verbal smack down.
Shirley, he needs a personality adjustment.
Now...
What really needs to go now is...
Those irresistible and flirty traits.
Success!
Cairo isn't as thrilled as Shirley.
That was one thing to check off her To-Do list.
Cairo is now Family Oriented and handy--perfect husband material.
I didn't need to plant anything in here. They has so much fruit in storage they could probably make nectar from it for a year.
I am just having them harvest what's left until they all die out.
Third Place beauty?
1st Place for Cairo.
Oh, this is the perfect place for this!
All this time gardening and nectar making...
This is their life.
Why not here?
Yeah, let's get this moving. I want to see some Cairo/Shirley babies.
Ugh, I still have other things to do though. Everyone has to move out, and then there is planning the wedding...
Ugh... just enjoy the moment.
Oh! Someone else is irresistible too.
I'll have to keep my eye on that.
Cairo was like a male lion with his pride of females - he sure was strutting his stuff and showing it off - until he had to chose only one there for a minute I thought the four un chosen might gang up on him and rip his 'mane' off
So you can imagine my surprise when he started flirting the next morning Shirley had no choice but to rein him in by using such drastic measures - she had to 'chang/castrate' him for her own good if making your ideal man was only so easy
Absolutely fantastic - I will be mosty lurking and reading - looking forward to the wedding
@CK213, I'm new to the forums but have been reading for some time, and I wanted to tell you that I've read almost all of your sims 3 stories (I think the Supernatural one is the only one I haven't read yet) and enjoyed them a lot. I'm generally more interested in seeing how people play the game than in reading stories that are pre-written works of fiction using the Sims as illustration, but your stories are just the right combination of storytelling and gameplay that I enjoy reading: you come up with interesting plots, but also leave in some of things the game randomly throws at you, like the NPC in University who appeared in Corinne's class dressed in similar clothes and turned out to be her soulmate. I'm new to the game, so I've also learned some things about it from your threads, eg. that it's possible to see your Sims while they're in a car or bus (I hadn't noticed it because I usually play very zoomed out) or that it's possible to follow an NPC with the camera to see where they're going (when I learned that, I stalked a burglar who was escaping in a speedboat in my game and tried releasing the Kraken on her, but it didn't work). Anyway, hi! You have another very interested reader. :)
Kicked Out
^^^Font size no longer works in the forum at this time.
I might just start adding title block images. More creative freedom, for sure.
Yes, kicked out.
It was always my intention the losers would get booted from the home and story progression would be free to do whatever it wanted with them.
That time has come.
The hurt feelings come out immediately when they have to pack up.
It's disappointing when no one responds to her leaving.
Didn't sims used to see them off? They do for University.
Well, I will miss you, Evelyn.
I should have made Cairo get his butt out of that chair and walk her out to the curb.
They did woohoo afterall.
I mentioned them packing up, but it's more like unpack.
Everything in their inventory is given to Cairo. I wanted them to have the cars they were given as a consolation prize.
Whoa, that thing is ugly, but it's worth a lot of simoleons.
Good for Evelyn.
Even better for Evelyn. That's a decent house.
She even has a pool.
I guess that woohoo counted for something after all.
Arlene is next.
I think the emotions are appropriate for the experience they had and having to suddenly give up this house.
It will be interesting to see what story progression does with them.
The cheapest car in the game, well she did place last.
That's a nice home, but scaled down compared to Evelyn's, who happens to live next door.
Frances is moving out next.
She's not upset.
She's leaving with style and grace. She's probably happy to go.
She did get into a lot of fights with Shirley.
Angie is upset for her.
He actually cares that you are leaving, Frances. It's just that the game doesn't care.
I know story progression is going to give them jobs that are totally wrong for them.
I will probably won't be able to resist and will meddle with their lives.
She gets a decent car.
Oh, and a cute little Art Deco house.
It's a beach property! Cool, I will have to visit her.
These Roaring Heights build mode objects are making me want to make some Art Deco homes.
Ok, you-- you are at least getting out of that chair to interact with Angie.
He lets her vent.
I guess that helped.
Aww... goodbye, Angie.
"Goodbye."
"Uh huh..."
Cairo.
The house is feeling empty now.
Angie gets a decent car too. It's strange that Evelyn got the more expensive one.
Oh, not bad.
I should go in and really fix it up for her since she came in second.
Gosh I wonder who the game will match her up with.
I might get all protective and have to get involved.
"Hey, it's me. I'll be alright."
If you say so.
And now there are two.
I am thinking BIG family. This place needs a lot of sims living in it.
However, I will probably only follow the first two children--the heir and the spare.
The heir is pretty much set up to be successful. I think I might have that child pursue another business.
I'll let the spare inherit the farm and continue the nectar business in order to finance his or her own nice home.
In the meanwhile, they still have things to do.
Angie and Frances left some big shoes to fill.
Shirley will take over elixir making.
Cairo will take over the research station and upgrading objects.
Shirley is not the domestic type, but this house is huge. She is going to be a busy woman.
I think she could use some help.
Cameo appearance: Xara (From my supernatural story series.)
I want Shirley and Cairo to have a live-in maid. I've played with live-in maids before and perfer them service maids.
Xara is French, so a French French Maid.
She will make sure everything is clean.
She will also be the cook...
And apparently be Xara the Magical Maid.
I forgot that she was witch when I saved her to my sim bin.
There will be a strict--hands off the maid--policy for Cairo.
No fooling around.
His first love is Shirley.
His second love is making Nectar.
Third love?
Cars of course.
His latest acquisition is a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Shirley nixed the Bugatti Veyron.
Whoops, I forgot to cancel the maid service.
Yeah, your services are no longer required.
Bye bye.
?
"Who the heck are you?"
That would be your first party guest.
You are getting a bachelorette party.
Welcome back, Angie.
To role play Shirley, I don't think this would be high on her priority list.
But she does love to dance...
Hey, I didn't invite you!
Ok, let's get this Bachelorette party started...
Next installment.
It was nice seeing all of the un chosen ladies getting wheels and roofs over their heads. Those were some pretty cool looking houses you picked out for them - I don't know how you are able to restrain yourself from at least getting them jobs and fixing up the houses - I know I would have to at least make sure they have every chance at succeeding
a bachelorette party - that sounds like it could be fun
@CK213, I'm new to the forums but have been reading for some time, and I wanted to tell you that I've read almost all of your sims 3 stories (I think the Supernatural one is the only one I haven't read yet) and enjoyed them a lot. Anyway, hi! You have another very interested reader.
Yeah, that's the way I like to approach stories. The most I would ever write in advance is a light outline. Then I will play to see if I can make it happen. Usually a lot of unexpected things happen and I add them to the story. My stories are more like Let's Plays.
My Supernatural story is one of my favorites. I actually finished it to a very satisfying conclusion. I have been updating it with larger pictures, but haven't gotten around to changing all the pics. EA's transfer of The Sims 3 forum to this site really messed up my formatting and page links. It's a lot of work to get all my stories back into prime condition. I did manage to stream line the process to shorten the time, but uploading all new pictures still takes time.
Hmph!
Take away my ability to make large font sizes--how's that for attention grabbing?
First thing on the party list: Kick that party crasher to the curb.
Buh-bye!
Nina Van Horn: "Where are the party drinks?"
Alright girl, show off your Smustle skills.
Do the Smustle!
Arlene is in awe.
Nina Van Horn is outraged.
That is a waste of perfectly good Champagne!
She could at least aim it at her mouth.
And you, get out of here.
Go out and earn a skill point, or something.
I'm not going to bother with a bachelor party for Cairo, I never focused on him having a good group of male friends.
I want to get to the wedding and starting a family anyway. No time to waste.
Paparazzi--they aren't here for Shirley and Cairo.
I removed their celebrity status. They must be here for the other girls and Nina Van Horn.
Unless they got it back, hopefully this will be the last I see of them after the bachelorette party and the wedding.
Xara is out of her maid's uniform and is joining the fun.
That's nice.
Shirley wants a selfie with Arlene.
"No, I have no regrets. I had a great experience and made some wonderful friends."
Frances cannot say the same.
She definitely doesn't want to take a selfie with Shirley.
"Oh come on, be a sport."
"As if I would actually take a selfie with her--is she daft?"
Evelyn is still feeling the heartbreak. That's a powerful two-day moodlet.
How about some Karaoke to take her mind off it?
Arlene takes Karaoke seriously.
Congratulations on that science skill point, Cairo. Now get over to the Simfu academy.
That's Reagan Capp, looking like a blonde Shirley; she was eliminated back at the farm.
A Limo?
Who's arriving in a Limo?
Oh, the entertainment.
Cowboys instead of soldier-boys this time.
The paparazzi are happy.
Things have just gotten juicier for the gossip pages.
Come on in gents, the ladies are waiting.
Aww... cute Frances, and happy for a change.
I made sure to put in a little table for the dancer's radio.
I don't want them to end up dancing in a bedroom or someplace other than where they should be.
So much for being happy--it evaporates.
No time for tears, it's showtime!
It's no time for karaoke either. Evelyn puts down the microphone.
There you go, Frances. Check out the partially nude dancing man.
"Booooo! Put your shirt back on!"
Angie doesn't reject posing for a selfie.
Arlene shows she has cool smustle moves on her own.
While Evelyn makes moves of another kind.
They have traits in common.
If he is in her relationship panel I might just hook them up later.
Hey, just because a guy takes off his shirt doesn't mean you lose your mind.
Put those hearts away.
There you go, Xara. Cool her off.
She was overdue anyway.
Dancing?
You aren't supposed to be dancing.
That's more like it.
They look like they are having a good time.
Go, Shirley!
Eyes avoiding his chest?
Go ahead, look. He knows you wanna.
These dancers just wear themselves out.
Someone discovered the bar and the hot tub.
Oh, there goes Angie.
She did lose a lot in this challenge.
Shirley tries to help.
She's coming out of it now.
Hold on, when did she get freckles?
Whoa! She turned on Shirley quick enough.
"I was robbed! This show was rigged!
And what is with that dancing skill? Why was it separate from the skills and challenges category?
This should be my mansion!"
Well now we know what's boiling below the surface.
Shirley won. It was close, but them's the rules.
Time for a time out, and something to eat.
She's hungry.
More drinks?
I bet she could out drink Nina Van Horn.
Arlene reconsiders a dip in the hot tub.
Xara had gone au naturel.
Xara's nakedness doesn't bother...
Who are you anyway?
"Out drink me?"
"Ha ha! What an amusing thought."
Shirley could use a drink herself with all this drama lurking below the surface and barely held in check.
Her maid is enjoying herself a little too much.
This should teach her a lesson.
The paparazzi are eating it up.
Now for that drink.
"Oh, and zen I went to ze club and met a Vampire.
He was very interesting. I was tempted to contact him anon, but I got zis job 'ere and never zought about him again. I wonder what would have 'appened if I did."
Back inside, all the girl's from the challenge are here, including Reagan.
Evelyn has yet to freak on her.
Great shot, later on this might make me nostalgic for all that lead up to this.

@SillyCailey
The game picked out the homes for them. Perhaps Roaring Heights has really nice homes. I haven't really checked them all out, but they did do well. I was particularly pleased that Evelyn and Arlene and Angie and Frances are living very close to each other.
Oh, I found and read your bachelor challenge! I really enjoyed it. I like Shirley, I wonder what a proper sim will be like married to Cairo. I haven't moved over to Sims 4 yet because there are so many things I haven't done in Sims 3, and Sims 4 wasn't really what I was expecting. I don't hate it, but it just doesn't seem worth it yet. I could have done with a few more Sims 3 expansion packs. I would have liked that Sims 4 spa though...
I haven't bought Roaring Heights yet, but it looks interesting. I am glad you are still doing some sims 3 posts, I always enjoy your sims and their adventures. I still have a copy of Cairo in one of my games, I am trying to decide if he is "the one" for one of my sims. They are pretty cute so far, we shall see.
Thanks for keeping us entertained with Cairo's adventures.

Sorry you missed it, Devalaous.
Frances is certainly a contender.
I need to get off this page so I can post more pics.
Cairo is still addicted to exotic cars.
Someone is going to play a cameo role.
coming soon.
All of them!

Next installment.
a bachelorette party - that sounds like it could be fun
@PalmArrow
Thanks for posting.
Shirley is all partied out now.
She will let it burn itself out.
She is going to bed.
Nice towel, Xara.
@Starsaphire2
And thank you for coming back to this thread.
@SillyCailey
The game picked out the homes for them. Perhaps Roaring Heights has really nice homes. I haven't really checked them all out, but they did do well. I was particularly pleased that Evelyn and Arlene and Angie and Frances are living very close to each other.
