    Graphics card not recognized

    Hi,
    I bought a new desktop, installed Origin and all...
    When I open the launcher- some message about script error shows up (I don't know if it's related perhaps that's a different issue)
    and when I'm trying to start the game it says this:
    5323000.jpg
    :(
    I read some tutorials online and they said something about the DeviceConfig log - mine is 0 kb and when I open it it's just blank...
    Help?

      I don't usually like to comment on top of a sim guru, and our friend @Nichaedemus has heard me say this before so I hope it's okay. This desktop is a little unusual in that it has an onboard graphics chip that could not possibly be able to run the game together with a very powerful dedicated card (the GTX 1050) that should be just fine. But the game is trying to use the "wrong" one, that's why you aren't even getting a DeviceConfig.log. @phoebebebe13's solution should direct the game to use the correct card and cap its frame rate properly, which is also required and very important to verify with the fps on cheat code once you actually manage to get in-game.

      Here are some visual instructions if you need them, the Nvidia Control Panel solution is under the first spoiler, the Nvidia Inspector one is under the second one. Note that the first one, vsync on the Control Panel, will only work in full-screen mode. If you require windowed mode or if the first one just doesn't work, the second way should.

      I downloaded the updated driver from the link. But I'm having an issue with the Nvidia control panel, I can't open it, there is a message that says that I'm not connected to Nvidia GPU or something like that, anyway I googled it and it might be something with the VGA/HDMI/DVI connectors to the screen? I think I need to try with another cable first and then proceed with the other steps...

      I bought a DVI cable, connected it to the computer where the graphics card is on one side and to the screen on the other side, but then the screen looks like it is not connected... (when it was connected with the VGA to VGA of the computer it was working)...
      I don't know what to do anymore I'm getting too confused and it is even before I started the solutions for the game itself... :disappointed:

      I'm nut sure... Do you mean the screen? (also not sure... Lol... it's Asus but I don't know more because the screen itself is old).
      There is a possibility that there is a problem with the graphics card not recognizing the operating system or the opposite (there was some error message about that too...), so currently I'm trying to set the operating system issue, there is a possibilty I did something wrong with that earlier. I'll try to arrange that and then see what next (since it is a new computer I feel like there are many technical issues of the begininng)...

      The reason why it was working with VGA is because you were not connecting to the graphics card, i am sure the GTX 1050 does not come with a VGA port, you were connecting to the onboard graphics, that is why your dxdiag showed your graphics as "Desktop Graphics Chipset Accelerated VGA "
      Make sure your DVI cable is plugged into the Graphics card port. Usually the cards ports are positioned horizontal on the back of the pc and the motherboards are vertical. Connect it to the horizontal DVI port, looks like this :

      Update:
      As mentioned before, I tried to connect the DVI-DVI cable to the screen, I tried where the graphics card is, I tried with the other port and it didn't work with both (and I don't have another computer with the DVI port, I don't know, there might have been a problem with the cable itself...?).

      I bought a HDMI cable too (this graphics card has DVI and HDMI ports), so after the DVI cable failed to work I bought an adapter DVI-HDMI, and tried first to connect my old laptop to the screen to make sure first that there is no problem with the cable and it worked! and then I connected the new computer to the screen, with the HDMI port of the graphics card and it finally worked, the screen was on!
      Then I tried to play the game to see if it works - it was loading and then at the menu there was this message about the graphics card, so after that I did the steps in the links (with Nvidia control panel) - and now everything finally works!!!! :smiley::smiley::smiley:

      So I want to thank you all again for your help, now everything is running great!!!!! :smiley::smiley::smiley:
