Hi :) I have been searching for a good laptop to play sims 4 and the expansions packs and the like. I have come across your name and notice all the very informative info you provide to others and was hoping you could perhaps steer me in the right direction? I would truly appreciate it.

I think I have found a laptop that best suits me and my budget to play sims 4 but want to make sure. Herewith below specs:

Dell Inspiron 7567 I7 gaming notebook:

    - internal memory 16 GB
    - Memory speed 2400 MHz
    - Internal memory type DDR4
    - Storage: 256GB SSD + 1TB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
    - Windows 10 home
    - HDMI 2.0
    - NVIDIA latest GeForce GTX 1050i discrete graphics with 4GB of GDDR5

I hope this is enough info?

Thank you so much for your time and help :)

Hi! I have seen you around the Sims Forums and you seem to know a lot about the Sims :D
So, I have been experiencing a lot of lag lately so I repaired my game. It's still lagging, but anyway...
I have two resource.cfg folders in my mods folder (I used to have cc but I uninstalled it due to lag and I thought that was what was causing it) and I was wondering if having to is contributing to the lag and is it safe to delete one?

    Thanks in advance :)

      Hello
Having 2 resource.cfg files can cause issues. It would be best to remove one.

Some things to do try to see if they may help with your lagging issues.

If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there.

Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Close all other open windows when playing the game and see if that helps.

Lower your graphics settings and see if that helps.
Check to make sure that your graphics drivers are up todate

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

Try switching between 32 bit mode and 64 bit mode and see if one of the modes helps the lagging issues more than the other
Go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”. Click on Advanced Launch options.
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”
Or change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 64-bit”

Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go,to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game

Try playing in off line mode and see if that helps.

If your sims live in San Myshuno, try moving them to another world

If doing these things don't help, it would be good topost your DxDiag info on a thread in the Sims 4 Tech section of the forums, You can post on a thread that has already been started.
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
      Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
Then copy and paste the information from where you saved it, to pastebin https://pastebin.com
and post the link to the file, on the thread in the Sims 4 Tech section of the. Forums.
