Can Sims 4 run without Origin?

Hi, @rosemow or @chesterbigbird my son has just got my old computer up and working and has installed Sims 4 without Origin from a disk. Can it be run successfully offline like that? The trouble they said they are having is that they create a sim and then when they go into the neighbourhood it just keeps loading and not going into the game. Any thoughts on what they can do or what may be causing it?

You need to have origin installed to play Sims 4. You play the game through Origin. It does need to be Installed to play the Sims 4 game. You need to log in to Origin using the user account that you used when first registering the game,

Origin is not installed?
As far as i know you need origin for the installation and then after that you can just set origin to offline mode. But you need to have it installed.

Hi again @rosemow and @chesterbigbird My son said to ask you what the minimum requirements were to play Sims 4 because they still can't get on, even after setting it up with Origin. They said a message comes up something about it needing 64 bit to run. I was sure I used that computer to play it before. Is there a way to play it with 32bit? or something you can do to downgrade the sims so it will run?

The Sims 4 can be played on a 32 bit system but some simmers with these systems have been having game issues

Origin has been causing my game to restart every time I launch it. Doesn't matter how or where I save it, every time I open origin, everything I had is gone and I am forced to start over. Can This be fixed by not running through origin?

Hello @whatare512
You need to run the game through Origin. When you launch the game and get to the main screen, do you press the load button and then load your game from the menu? If you don't do that, start a new game and play the game for a little while. Save the game. Then exit the game completely, Launch the game again and see if the load button is in the main screen. Press the load button, load your save game and see if your game is saved at the point where you saved it.

Unfortunately HP stream laptops do not meet requirements to run this game . They are designed for light computer tasks, have a small hard drives and are to be used with cloud storage. This game requires a mid range gaming desktop . To play on laptop you need a higher end gaming laptop to equal the requirements on desktop. Do you have another computer to play on? If not I suggest thinking about investing in a computer that meets requirements if you wish to play this game. someone in tech can help you find a new computer that meets requirements

@rosemow we posted at the same time again HP stream laptops can't run this game. They are a cross between a laptop and a tablet , have low end hardware with small hard drives like a tablet. They are meant to be used with cloud storage
