Oh wow. That penguin does not look one bit happy. There's a lot of otherwise cute animals like that which can be really scary if they're in a bad mood.

All the more proof that birds are just dinos shrunk down and made weirder.

Creepy. But its the same basic thing with geese so this probably isn't as surprising to me as one would expect. Of course geese are more expected to be terrifying and evil but whatever.

Those teeth hurt too. A lot.

And in the theme of the thread.
Today I learned that the coolest part of the country currently has bush fires, while the rest of the country is having 40C+ weather. There are places that are reaching 47C.
It's a bit toasty downunder this week.

    If you mean @Movotti 's pic I think it's a cormorant maybe?

Also stay cool @Movotti and it could be worse: Could be -30C windchill like where I am.

Baby flamingos aren't pink (because they haven't ingested enough shrimp I guess) and they look like a toddler in dad's rubber boots.

Yeah, I'd be unhappy too if a bunch of humans were holding my beak open instead of minding their own business. :D

I knew a lot of animals were hiding rows of teeth, but I didn't know penguins were one of them.

Wanted to revive this thread after I found this yesterday.

Today I learned that Vampire Squid despite it's predatory appearance it mostly consumes “marine snow”—a mixture of dead bodies, poop, and snot. The dead bodies are the remains of microscopic algae and animals that live in the waters farther up in the ocean, but sink down into the depths after they die. Sorta like how Whales eat Krill.
