I like doing this- sometimes structurally, sometimes as furniture or decor.
In this picture I used enlarged shelves to give a structural/ built-in feel to the fridge and cabinets. I also used the height tool to lift the vent hood from GTW up to the bottom of the upper cabinets and the wall light I move up as well to provide again a built in under cabinet lighting system look.
Here I wanted to give the impression of wall panels with small side tables. I blew up the banners from CL and of course framed them with the lighted columns. Then I enlarged the menu stand from DO, fronted it with the wood block carving from SD (I think) and placed a shelf on top holding the flower vase from DO.
Enlarged the vase in the front and placed the orchids in it using the height tool and MOO- I also have them sitting on a base created from the square platforms from SD. I do the vase trick A LOT with the small square bamboo in floral. EDIT: I probably should have added the hanging light fixtures are using two floor lamps and an outdoor landscape light- the walls are two separate, solid curtains blended together to make stripes- I use MOO A LOT- lol.
Neon Crosses for my disco in the Spice District using MOO/ Height Tool and three different lights.
A lot of use of MOO/Height tricks went into the build this shot is from. The heavy, oppressive crown molding and the re-cast sofa are both examples.
@gamekitten with the shelves it is very tricky... mostly it works for me when I place them not attached to the wall but also with moo. Each time when I attach them to a wall it doesn't work for me. So just remove the walls place the shelf with moo and then place the wall again. I did a vid tutorial on that but it is in German...
I recently discovered putting plants into vases as well - used the large one from Spa Day and put the Perfect Patio plant inside it. Will definitely be doing that more often.
@aaronjc123 yeah, the idea with the plants and the vases is great! I'm definitely going to use that more often But your idea the the side table is also amazing!! Great job!

I'll have to try that, fingers crossed your builds are great by the way
Just add, that worked! I took the bed (top one in the pics I posted) Deleted the walls around where I wanted to put it, sized up the shelf and used the flooring and height of the bookshelf to judge where to put it, put the bed back, redrew the walls and it's working perfectly. Thanks so much for the tip. I never would have thought of it myself!
I wish holding the alt button was basically a MOO toggle, instead of its current 'halfway-there' movement it allows for. That said though, while I love the creative creations shown here using it, I'm so used to MOO messing up gallery builds that I never use it myself. I find I can do most things I need to with the alt button and that's probably crazy enough when it comes to putting my builds on the gallery.

I love using the alt key a lot too. It usually suffices when wanting something right in to the corner, or moving a picture on the wall. But MOO does come in handy for a lot of things too.
Btw, I tried that dinging table desk with end tables underneath and I love it so much more than the actual desks! It's something I will do all the time now that this thread has shown it.
@SeaDragonSong when you activate bb.moveobjects, you can use "Ctrl+9" to elevate objects ("Ctrl+0" for descending them back). I usually use shelves for the "steps". But lately I saw a video by #thesimsupply (yeah, I'm also a big fan ) and he used this floor lightings from Spa Day and they look very nice as ladders

woah how did you get this to be usable?
I placed the tables in the basement under the pool and mooed them up. So technically the sims are sitting in the basement
If you want to see how that works, you can see it in this video (commentary in German) from minute 02:40

Ahhh these are amazing! I love this thread, and I've bookmarked it too! I'll have to watch the tutorial soon.
Also, what's the height cheat? I know how to use MOO but not that one lol
And what did you use for steps? Are they empty shelves? How do they get into the bed?
