Deliver Baby Task (doctor career issue) «12345...Next Go

I am officially a level 8 doctor, medical specialist, and have encountered a problem with no solution and am getting very frustrated...

The task I am supposed to preform is "Deliver a Baby", and have played 2 sim weeks without any luck. I have tried placing sims from the gallery that are in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester and they do not come to the hospital for delivery and have them at their home. Npc's also do not come in when i'm working for me to complete the task.

Is anyone else encountering this problem, and/or have a fix for it? I cannot get past level 8 because of this problem and find it so frustrating.

It just happened for me this morning. After reaching level 8 in the doctor career, it took 3 sim weeks for a pregnant NPC to come in. Just keep working, it will happen. :) I also came here looking for answers earlier. Yours was the only post I found, so I thought I would let you know.

hey since you're both in the doctor career and seem pretty far into it, i only started yday... something strange happens i wonder if it happened to you guys.

When my task is to transfer a patient...i can't. i click on the doctor and click transfer patient and the action pops up that my sim will do it then quickly disappears...i have to praise work ethic first, have a convo with them THEN the transfer action works (everytime!)

is that normal? or not? it's so annoying because it takes up time my sim can be working on the daily tasks in the event timer.

Having the same problem, but I'll continue playing until this pregnant sim will imminently arrive.

I've had the same issue, but starting a conversation and then selecting "transfer case files" has worked for me a few times. It's very strange why that is though :neutral:

My biggest issue right now with doctor is that I have a task of completing Xray on a patient but no matter how many times times i do it never counts, and thus stuck with that task....

And no this isn't normal, I can just tranfer patient without doing anything other than clicking the bubble of tranfer patient.

Not the same issue but I had problems with diagnosis in level 6. Either repair game or removing mods worked to fix up. Currently adding mods back in is ok ( but not all mods are back in) and I hit the pregnant sims on second workday at that level.

I have the same problem as level 8. I've played for several Sim days and have top level job performance now but cannot advance to level 9 because I cannot deliver a baby. No option to do this and no one pregnant ever comes in??? I've even tried taking out all of my mods and played 2 days and it still didn't work. :)

@ambrown I had this issue and realized I wasn't trying to turn it into the right person. The only person you can transfer patients too is the on call "Doctor"

For the ones having problems, do you have sim, your sim and town sims, aging on or off?

@Lawliepopz yes i know, the doctor isn't working. i click on the doctor and click transfer patient and it pops up in my sims task bar and then disappears, first i have to praise worth ethic or any friendly action and only then will it transfer, very time consuming and annoying!

With everyone that having are problems with transferring patient information I had a little problem were it would work for one Sim game but not the other. Try making sure the doctor on call is not doing anything before you transfer the case. You may have to chat with the doctor first then slide the transfer case option on in there.

Yes, it's normal. I have to do the same and read of other simmers doing that to.

Having the same issue with the deliver a baby task to move up to level 9. I've been playing for about a Sim week now. I've had several Sims come into the hospital and collapse, but no pregnant sims. I have no mods and I have aging on, so I think it's probably just one of those things that take time. More time than it logically should.

Considering what you guys have said, my situation seems kind of strange. It is my sims second/third day as a level 8 medical specialist, and about an hour into work a pregnant NPC came strolling into the hospital. Seems pretty quick, almost too quick, for me but I guess now I won't have to wait as long to level up.

You have to change your setting to where all Sims auto-age. Normal lifespan. I did that and the next day a pregnant old man came in to have a baby lol.

i think part of the problem is that sims 4 doesnt have storyline progression like sims 3 did. You have to move people into homes via manage worlds or itll never happen (the deliver a baby task). I filled every home in oasis springs full of pregnant sims (4 pregnant sims per household) except for the home that MY sim was living in). All of the pregnant sims I moved in were of varying gestations and it still took almost a full sim week for my sim to finally get to deliver a baby. its quite annoying.

My sim will go to work on any given day (e.g., Sunday), come home after his shift is over, and go back to work the following day but when he arrives at work, it's Sunday again. He cannot do any tasks and he cannot go home. I have no mods installed and I have tried repairing the game several times but I'm not sure what to do. This tends to happen every time my sim is promoted.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then add back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders.

Try having your sim quit his job then rejoin the job and see if that helps.

So, I've gotten to the point where pregnant sims show up for delivering a baby, however when I click them to deliver the baby, they just leave the hospital. This is obviously not normal, any suggestions on what do to do fix this? :(

Does this happen each working day for your doctor sim? Try going back the next working day and see if the pregnant sim will remain there then,
If the issue remains, repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then add back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders.

Mine is slightly different to Nahiek. my doctor sim had no problem to work for the baby delivery yesterday but today, my doctor sim guided the pregged guy into the surgery room and he started to work on machine but suddenly, my doctor sims stops the baby delivery and the patient just leaves the room. I use 4 mods and just a cc skintone only. I tried to do it again without mods and skins but it's the same. How can I fix this? I tried to repairing the game, and refreshed the sims 4 folder as well but it didn't work on my game.

Try going back the next working day and see if the same issue occurs. It may have been a glitch for that day, and will be resolved when your sim goes back to work the next day.

I am about to ask my mom if I can get Get to Work. It's been out for a while, and I've always wanted it. Never had the bravery to ask. I hope she says yes!!!!!!! I'll tell you what she says. By the way, I've watched YouTube videos and the same problems you have experienced, and they got through them. Hopefully they update the Sims and the wait isn't too long anymore to deliver a baby!
