The following characters were built entirely with vanilla game assets: e.g., no custom content and nothing from expansion or content packs. (I'll be adding more as I find the time to grab screenshots and put them in the gallery.)

Links are to townies; to wit, they have skills, careers, etc. They're meant to be moved into your town and then evicted so that they become members of the collective "Unplayed Households" that roam about.


Effie Burbank - Usually the funniest person in the room, but the only problem is, she probably hates being there. The life of a stand-up comedian might seem like an odd choice for a loner like Effie Burbank, but her biting humor results from her sharp perspective as an observant outsider. She may be one break away from moving off the C-List, but she might not be. If she can focus her creative energies and hone her routines, however, she might just become a headliner.

Nils and Brigitte Drache - With the death of her mother, Brigitte was compelled to turn to her distant father Nils, and Nils was compelled by the state to take back the unwanted child that he, for all intents and purposes, abandoned in favor of seeking his fortune. Can Nils overcome his self-centered impulses to forge a relationship with his estranged daughter, and can Brigitte battle the sadness resulting from her abandonment?

- Brigitte Drache: Childish, Gloomy (recommend Perfectionist if aged up)



Flaherty Twins - The similarities are obvious, but the differences are surprising. Recent arrivals to Willow Creek, yet they somehow already have a large cohort of hangers-on--mostly men!

- Keira Flaherty: Active, Romantic, Self-Assured


Rosario Foreman - Sort of a late bloomer. Spent her awkward early teen years largely characterized by her nerdish tendencies. When her body matured, she went the opposite direction.

Kinimaka + Graves - Tristen is a man without guile--serious about his career as a chef, his lifestyle, and his love life. Kiana is, however, completely beguiling--seemingly only interested in her dancing. They get on well, but Tristen seems totally unaware that he has been friend-zoned. And since their relationship keeps a nice roof over her head, Kiana isn't in any rush to drive the reality home.

- Tristen Graves: Active, Foodie, Neat



Karma Machiavelli & Ariella Verso - Karma is the offspring of a notorious cat burglar, and Ariella the spawn of a sociopathic criminal entrepreneur. Where one goes, the other is rarely far behind. Karma in particular can be a charming little minx, though chances are, she's probably lifting your Sim's wallet while Ariella is destroying something in the house just for a laugh. Make no mistake--these are mean girls in every sense of the word.

Barbara Roberts - The world is her oyster. Young Barbara Roberts ("Barbie" to her friends) has the potential to be or do whatever she wants. Where will life take her? No doubt, somewhere fun!

Eden Shepard - The less your Sims know about her, the better for them. International woman of mystery. An extremely dangerous operative working to make the world a less chaotic place. Wickedly smart and capable.

Chanelle Sørensen - Chanelle has no real life plan, but that's how she prefers it. She watched her parents spend the best years of their lives toiling away at the corporate rat race, and she absolutely refuses to do the same. When she needs the money, she mixes drinks at whatever bar will employ her--high class or dive bar, she doesn't discriminate. Impossible to dislike, really, but the truth is that at the end of the day, she may actually enjoy books more than people.

The Swans - Mother brings home the bacon and father grows the vegetables. This IT analyst (Vivian) and botanist (Byron) came together over a mutual love of the outdoors, and together they brought into this world an incredibly precocious child (Leticia) who keeps them both on their toes.

The Thornes - Public figures. On the cover of countless magazines. Adored for their refined charm and idolized for their combined business acumen. Filthy rich. Geniuses. A natural affinity for any skill to which they put their minds. It's easy to be jealous of the Thorne siblings. But what your Sims should be is scared. There are things Xander and Roxxy don't want you to know.
- Roxxy Thorne: Evil, Genius, Materialistic
- Xander Thorne: Ambitious, Evil, Genius

The following characters contain content from expansion packs (but no custom content).

Faith Ferguson - Faith grew up in a middle class family and has always led a fairly average, middle class life, except for one thing: season passes to the nearest ski slope, without fail every winter. As a result, Faith has been skiing for nearly as long as she has been walking. She recently graduated from state school with a degree in marketing, but while she works on finding a real job, she makes ends meet as a ski instructor.
(The only thing from Get to Work is the hairstyle, but for me, this is her signature look--you could, of course, use a different style.)
- Traits: Cheerful, Loves the Outdoors, Outgoing


Tiffany Liang - First-generation immigrant, Tiffany was blessed with creativity, brains, and athleticism. She could have done nearly anything with her life--she chose to give back to her family's adopted country by becoming a protector of the peace as a member of her local police force. Owing to her ambition and talent, she should soon earn that promotion to detective for which she has been purposefully gunning.

Hey, all. I've been uploading some of my Sims to the public gallery lately. I've done a bunch, and I'll update this post as I get more ready. I wanted to share, because I spend a lot of time making sure they look great (to me) in game (they're obviously not all meant to be fashion models), and because I think it's difficult to find good townies that don't utilize a ton of custom content. Also, because I love to share.

I started with a few of my favorites. Mismatched father and daughter Drache and tough-as-nails superspy Eden Shepard (modeled after my custom Shepard from the Mass Effect series). If you like them, I'd love a favorite or two!

It is great to read the background details story that you have written about your sims. They sound like great sims to play/watch in the game and to see what happens in their sims lives, and for our own sims to meet. It is great that you have set up a showcase thread for your sims.

Updated: I added Karma and Ariella, because I dearly love these two, and Karma is one of the only characters I've made to this point that a few people have actually downloaded. So I guess some people like her for whatever reason. They're both horrible people, which is why they're fun.

Thanks! It's more interesting for me, personally, if Sims have a pre-existing backstory, which is why I'm doing these as townies rather than clean slate characters.

That said, I've got them all as unplayed versions as well if anybody should ever be interested. Some may already be shared that way, but I'll probably be phasing that out.

Okay. Adding one more for now: Effie Burbank. Fairly high comedy skill, on the entertainer path, a smattering of some other skills. She can be a cut-up, but as an introvert, she needs her personal time to recharge in between social outings.

Added Chanelle Sørensen. A sort of nomadic free-spirit who needs little more than a good book to remain optimistic about life.

Thanks! She's probably my favorite, too, but maybe that's because she's the one I actually played the longest.

Added the Swans, which I recently created after being inspired by another poster's post-apocalypse, Walking Dead-style Sims. Hence the reason their default outfits are sort of drab (I did give them each much cuter Everyday 2 outfits) and why they've got nicely lined foreheads!

This is the first family I've attempted to do, and I'm really happy about how they turned out. The parents are extremely cute together when interacting in game.

As a bonus, I'm including a screenshot below of what the child, Leticia, looks like when she ages up into a young adult.

Adding a new character: Tiffany Liang. She's down at the bottom of the original post, because I broke my rule about only using vanilla game content--her hairstyle is from the Get to Work expansion pack. Certainly, anybody could give her a different hairstyle.

Anyway, I just wanted to do a Chinese character that actually looked Chinese to me.

As usual, I don't use custom content. I do feel like the skin textures in game kind of let me down here, though. The tone of the face is just way too flat and uniform. I don't know why it hasn't bothered me as much with other characters. I finally broke down and wound up giving her some freckles to compensate.

Added the Flaherty Twins. Samantha actually started out as a makeover on one of the random townies, but then I wound up changing so much of her face structure that it felt more like an original character. I did keep her random, original traits, though, which is why she's both a geek and a bro.

Somehow it felt like she needed a twin sister, however, so Keira was born. Personalities and sense of style are different, and I even baked in a few subtle facial differences. It was an interesting challenge trying to make them distinguishable without changing much.

Edit: As usual, I used no CC. Also, nothing from an expansion. It's all base game content.

I love your sims, totally gonna nab some for gameplay. I am terrible at creating because I seem to only stick with one look, your sims are all so unique.

That's an awesome compliments--thanks. I probably lean too heavily on making them attractive, but either way, I usually spend a ton of time making sure they look right in game (and then, of course, capturing good screenshots!).

Each of your latest sims are very nice! It is great that you have created a family of sims. It is nice seeing the pictures of Leticia both as a child and what she looks like aged up. They sound like a great family of sims to play in the game.

Most creators end up having their sims all kinda look the same (like me ) but your sims really offer a big variety.
All of them are very well done and I like the fact that you didn't need any CC to create these interesting and unique looking characters.

Adding a new household today. The Thorne siblings (not twins, just siblings). They're evil geniuses, with high level skills in things like logic, programming, and handiness. They're savants, so they're basically good at whatever they want to be.

I created Faith Ferguson just last night in support of this Natural Beauties thread. She is not a base game Sim, as she uses a hairstyle from Get to Work. Otherwise, though, I made sure to only include vanilla assets.

She has middling skills in a bunch of things. She's at the lowest position in the business career.

Sorry--not releasing anything new today. Just thought I'd share some of these interesting faces I got by mucking about with genetics. I didn't change anything about them yet, apart from maybe a hair color or something trivial.

I'm adding a couple today. Not in the same household--merely adding them at the same time.

Left: Rosario Foreman. Smart and athletic. Almost like two people in one. She has low level skills in a bunch of things, and she's a Dance Team Captain in the Athletic career.

Right: Barbie. Because, honestly, we're just playing virtual Barbie, right? She has no skills--a complete blank slate. Because the fun of playing with a Barbie doll is that she can be anything.
