Well, I decided to make my first post in this thread, so here it is! The last couple of days I've been working on a digital art for a contest, called "My Future Home". I interpreted the topic so here is what I ended up with!




It is far from good, but I wanted to share them anyway, because they remind me of something Sim-ish. I am working on improving my skills!

Your illustrations are very nice It looks very nice in the first picture how you have drawn the home then have the tree and the mountains behind it in a symbolic way of the outdoors surroundings. The pathway looks nice in the front of the home. The accompanying text looks nice how you have done it. The homes and scenery paintings on the wall of the second illustration looks very nice.

Thank you very much @rosemow! The artworks I used for the frames are not mine though. The deadline for the contest was too short so I had to use already made ones.

I really like the visual balance in the "one with nature" graphic. The mountain motif and angles are repeated throughout, and it adds such a nice feeling of cohesion to the design. I'd love a t-shirt with this image on it!

The second one, because the perspective is skewed, feels a little Escher-like to me--like it's almost an optical illusion, and I like the effect, for that's how I always feel anytime I'm in an urban setting!

@CathyTea It is good that you understood the ideas I tried to implement. The repetative angles in the first graphic represent my feel for living together with nature, there is balance everywhere.
For the second one, I just wanted to create an illusion, but look, you got a different point of view and you translated the meaning from your point of view. This is why I like hearing other people's thoughts.

For me, the nature one expresses balance and harmony, and the urban one expresses off-balance, illusion, and disharmony--though it is still pleasing, just not organic.

Really love the basic-ness of the first one! It looks homely, and I could totally see this on a coffee product, I'm not sure why tbh. I guess cause coffee is warm and I can see myself getting cozy. I'm bad at explaining things, but I honestly think it looks great

The second image creates an illusion for me where it's hard to tell if an interior or exterior corner. Trickeye.
