Cinderellimouse Wow your shop/s gorgeous I love how it all looks especially the blue starry pattern and the tea room.
Btw yesterday I started on one of the shop (3) plots with a theme as all the inspiration here gets me thinking
What great ideas for shops you've all had! I especially love the shipping container one :-)
I haven't built a full-on store yet, but I've been adding little shop sections to other community lots. My Dragon Valley resort now has a little gift shop that sells medieval-themed items. I stuck an elixir register in there too.
Next I'm thinking of doing a wedding venue with a bridal shop attached.
Has anybody tried combining Savvy Seller with the seasonal lot marker? It could be fun to have a gift shop that sells different items with each season (flowers and bunny decor in Spring, etc), but I haven't actually gotten to try it out yet. I am trying to force myself to actually stick with a family for more than one generation, so even though I bought MH I haven't gotten into it or the premium stuff yet.
It seems like it would work, unless the changing of the seasons (and therefore the items) would interfere with the whole price setting thing.... ?
That is an awesome idea! You could have a shop selling Christmas decorations in the Winter etc... ooh, I hope it works, I'm going to have to try that.
Some fantastic shops in here, I've also seen some great ones in the MH sharing thread too.
I love this thread! Favorited and rec'd a bunch of them
Tried doing a boat shop the other day, unfortunately even with using moveobjects to place boats on the rugs I can't sell them. The windsurfboards work fine though.
I found this fantastic Santa's Workshop, which I thought would be great in Aurora Skies. I edited it a little and added in the toyshop stuff, Santa can make his toys there and they can be sold in the store. Thank you to yoda65 for that
I turned the Grahams Pet Swap Shop in AP into a store that also sells cages etc from the savvy seller mats.
My SV hood I have set up for the Showtime careers, so I put the brilliant Moxy Music in there so that the singers etc could go buy their musical instruments there. Thanks, monaduncan
I've kinda run out of ideas for other hoods at the moment, so I just wondered what everyone else was doing...
And I was just testing the lot so the sims are a bit randomly dressed.
This is the exterior of the shop. It's not in MH, it's in my world in the arty section that needs building up.
*Image snippage*
This section is the magic store selling wands and other bits and bobs.
*Image snippage*
I enclosed the register in the new fencing which I'm very happy with!
*Image snippage*
Then this is my elixir shop. I was playing around with my witch sim, if she owns the lot she can decorate it with her magician items and also sell some elixirs!!! I can also get her to decorate the shelving with gemstones (I wish we could sell these items with the savvy seller so that sims could buy them, but they vanish if I load another household so I guess it's the gems/elixirs that's causing the issue, but this is a nice thing to do anyway.)
*Image snippage*
Then there's a sneaky door that leads to the upstairs tearooms. I was recently gifted the Through the Looking Glass sets and I found the items PERFECT for a cute, quirky tea room!
*Image snippage*
And finally there is an underground werewolf bar! Full of tree décor to make them feel comfortable.
*Image snippage*
I'm going to replace the fence with the new tree divider from the new set, and also replace the lights over the bar and dj booth.
The only issue is that the sims keep leaving the bar to go and browse the items for sale! I think I might have to add the savvy seller doors or something.
I love this lot!! Your row of shops looks so much better than mine!I love the tea shop too!!

I am just putting the finishing touches on my bakery/cake shop that has a flower shop upstairs. I placed it in Moonlight Falls because it stands out too much in Midnight Hollow. I love everyone's amazing creations! Bookmarking this thread to check back
Got it finished at last, Gallery and Magic Shop plus Tea Room

This was the Avant-Garde Gallery MH, now it has an Oz theme including a yellow road to guide you through the rooms and outside Dorothy's Chicken yard and harvest garden. Next door is a Magic store for all your Wizards and Witches good or bad with all you need on two floors. Other end is Dorothy's Tea Shop where you can have Tea and Cake when ever you wish and eat in or out and use toilets upstairs. So plenty to purchase or try doing some art yourself at the Gallery. No CC/CAP.
By the way the Gallery/Shop was remodelled in Moonlight Falls so I could see what I was doing, especially the outside, it fits/replaces Gallery in Midnight Hollow.

A very nice shop Dragon123561 and I love the colours and the jigsaw pattern on the floor outside. With those great colours you used, later you could decorate for Christmas and upload it again with a different name Perfect Christmas colours Red and Green.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. it's much appreciated.
I have a small 10x10 lot that I would like to share with you. It's Ichabod's Exotic Collectibles, a shop where you can purchase many of the rare finds and treasures from exotic lands. Makes extensive use of the World Adventures expansion pack. Also uses the door, shelves, and cash register from the Savvy Seller collection. No custom content, no create-a-pattern. Verified with Custard. Please recommend! Thanks!
Sorry I haven't been around for a while, I had to take a break because of video card failure. No big deal, it was an old video card and I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did with the way that Sims 3 really pushed things to their limits. It wasn't really in my budget to get a new video card at this time, but now I am glad that I was forced to get a new one because my graphics are really awesome now and my game runs a lot better too, LOL.
I thank everyone for keeping up this thread. Looks like there are some really awesome creations. Can't wait to try them out, going now to download and give recommendations.
Don't know if I'll be able to upload any creations this month because I have been really busy at college, but I am hoping that I will have some time in December after finals are over. Looking forward to seeing some more creations!
I did a remodel of Monte Vista's Mucha Expresso Cafe to provide a home for the savvy sellers and the street market PC. There is a toy shop with the savvy and the toy maker, but there's also the savvy seller pedestals and shelves tucked away around the marketplace outside. There was rugs too, but their tendancy to allow everything anywhere near them to be sellable annoyed me slightly so I only left the ones in the toy store.

Love all the shops, the Savvy Seller set is so versatile

I was thinking of doing something similar ... now I don't have to!
and ... while I'm here ...
I also tried my hand at a car showroom/service centre:
NOTE:
In order to place the non-décor cars I used Buzzler’s Build/Buy Restriction Choker mod - you only need to install the mod if you want to edit the lot; you do not need it to play the lot as it is.
