I abandoned the legacy I was going to do because I find that just playing without trying to reach some kind of goal is the way I like to play. But I did make a new Opposites Attract couple named Kevon and Alexis. Kevon is socially awkward, family oriented dog lover and Alexis is an outgoing, easily jealous cat lover. They aren't dating, they are just roommates. I'm going to slowly progress their relationship. Have them go to college, start their careers, maybe date other Sims, and realize they are made for each other (pun intended). I'm going to have the whole wedding shebang with Wedding Stories (which I know is probably broken still) and see where their story goes.
I decided to play on Long lifespan which I rarely do but normal lifespan is too short and I can use MCCC to change the lifespan but I don't know a good balance with both Sims and pets that's not too long or short so long lifespan for now. They really should add lifespan sliders to this game but I'm not holding my breath on that. And I know that when I'm ready, I can age them up manually.
@Fairy_Happy This game is just that. A game. If you're not having fun, what is the point? Play the game the way that makes you happy. Others may be inspired by the challenge you set up. I hope your Opposites Attract works out to be all kinds of fun.
@Fairy_Happy, I'm also not a fan of challenges. I always find myself focusing on the rules and not building a story. It all feels too restrictive for me. I do like using challenges as a starting point for my sims' personalities or when I can't think of a direction to take their stories.
As for lifespan sliders, I would love it if we had them but I don't see that happening anytime soon either.
Instead of doing the long days, like I was going to do, because my attention span won't allow it. I just doubled the default days, slowed down Sims time and needs decay. The game is much more enjoyable now.

The toddlers will only be able to experience one season and the children only two seasons. So I may or may not change the season length back down to 7 but for now, I'm keeping it at 14. At first I was going to do 4 times the lifespan for the pets but realized that the dogs would have lived 144 days and that is way too long. With these lifespans, if a Sim got a dog or a cat, then had a child after getting the pets, the dog or cat will live all the way until the child is in the middle of their teenage years which is realistic since teenagers are 13 to 17 and with 15 being around the median age. Most cats and dogs live to about 15 or so. And regarding the horse, the child would be in their early YA age when the horse dies. Which is also realistic since horses lifespans are longer than cats and dogs.
So I'm going to play around with these see how I feel that with the longer but not too long days, the slower needs decay and slower game time speed, I will definitely feel more at ease with playing and not feel like I'm rushing my sims into marriage and jobs and children without being able to do anything else or their needs getting in the way all the time.
So the setting are there if any of you want to try them out. They are definitely working for me so far and hopefully you can get some use out of them too.
Now the only thing I need to figure out how to do is prevent the Sims from constantly doing stupid and unproductive things on free will like grabbing books and watching TV constantly.
And I found out the MCCC can disable automatic actions. Is there anything this mod DOESN'T do?
Well I did find out that it doesn't remove skills once they are learned. Once I get the time to, I'm going to remove trolling forums, read books, watch tv, play video games and prank toilet from autonomy. Those are the actions that annoy me the most.
Emmeline has other milestones related to her relationship, so I'm guessing it's not a bug, just an oversight... sad though, your first kiss seems like such an important life milestone!
Has anyone used this career before? It says i need something called XML injector for it to work. I'm not experienced with XML but would like to use this career on a sim of mine:

@GalacticGal I'm not sure, I have a NVidia 3060 RTX graphics card from 2021 so it's in-date. Graphics are on high and set in to laptop mode as i play on a gaming laptop. When i loaded back on to this lot carrying on from last night, the sofa looked how it's supposed to look in image two.
When you hover over it, it shows it's true texture:

I have the XML Injector, and have had it for ages (this updated version was the end-all be all update, that never needs updating so they claimed). All this to say I haven't had any problems with it.
