I was interested to see how many of you have kids and how you make playing Sims work. My husband and I are big gamers (360, one, ps3, ps4, wiiU, mac and pc) and lately have been finding it hard to game as our daughter gets older. Although we are very much looking forward to when she can game with us (Hubby is especially excited for Minecraft with her).
Back to my initial question: How/when do you find time?

I also have a one year old! One day she'll be old and won't need us and then how will we feel LOL. I hear ya on the multiple games thing too. So hard to decide when you only have a couple hours!
Yep, it's a tough decision! Sometimes her grandparents borrows her a day on weekends though, and we either sleep or play the whole day.
Now that they're all teens, I don't really have time during the week with what they have going on and work. But on weekends I can usually get some good play time in if we don't have anything going on.

Congrats on your family!
We're a family of gamers. We still have family time, but we do our own thing, too, and never feel cut off or removed from the family, as we can all just look to our side or over our monitors to speak with any other member of the family.
Before my daughter got her own computer two and a half years ago, it was a little more difficult to find gaming time (when she wasn't in the mood to play the PS3 or Wii).
I plan on raising my children as gamers if this is related, I don't have any yet though.
I've decided to introduce them to classics like snes and sims 1 first and then work our way up."hey son the scientists just created the gameboy advance!"
Love that! Hubby and I currently have seperate set-ups (his is living room, mine is our bedroom) so we often play online together and just use game chat. We're lucky with a daughter who has slept through the night since VERY early! Glad you can now get some decent gaming time in!
Aww so sweet! I'm lucky in the sense that my daughter and youngest sister are the same age, so they often get to play together on the weekend which is SO fun to see! I won't have grandbabies for a long time, but I am definitely excited for that!
Sounds like my hubby lol. I definitely did not want my hobbies pre kids to be over once our daughter was here! Her name is Anakin so we're hoping she's some sort of gamer/nerd/geek etc. Lol. Just to humor us, she'll probably hate it all haha!
Thank you so much
Absolutely LOVE this! When we build we will be adding in a gaming room. Sort of like an office, but more for all of us to be able to game (wether PC or console) together. Gaming is a huge part of our lives, so I'm happy to hear someone else feels the same way as me (which is why I made this thread LOL).
Always related! I HOPE my daughter is a gamer one day! We're hoping for Minecraft first, cause thats endlessly entertaining!
Hubby and I don't have little ones yet but when we do it's nice to see that we would both still have time to play games!

I don't mind giving up a few days to see her!

Gaming together is the best isn't it???
Heck ya you will! I think it's brought us closer together in regards to how awesome it will be if she wants to play with us one day!
Love it! My mom was a big gamer too! She always let me watch and occasionally I'd sneak in the living room and watch (especially Resident Evil Nemesis... one of my all time favorites).
Aww, so sweet! If I only had my daughter a few days a week I would do the same! Love your sig!
What an awesome hubby!!! Also.. what is your secret to 17 years?! Hubby and I are at 5!
If I ever decide to marry (or live together) and have children, I hope to have a gamer family like some simmers here have. This is so cool ❤
I never thought about showing my games to my potential future children, only the cartoons and music I grew up with. This is a nice idea.
I hear ya! Although I'm over laundry
Sounds like our schedule/life too! We play after Anakin goes to bed!
I'm so glad others are getting something out of this thread! I was SO worried before she was born that I wouldn't be able to continue... but I guess when your hobbies are this important, you'll make time!
So basically, we game in parallel.
We used to play Skylanders and Plants vs. Zombies. together before.
