Part 2: A blessing in disguise
This morning started bad. Fiona was hunting all night and came back too late, completely exhausted she fell asleep around 6.30, while Dan was about to make breakfast. Minutes later the old stove caught fire.
Dan took some bread and jam, to take away the worst hunger. He was in despair, they could not afford a new stove right now, with the baby and everything.
The postman came, reluctantly Dan got up, to check if there was new unpaid bills. There was, but here was also a lottery win note.
They won 500.000§, he said it again to himself 500.000. That was more money than he had ever dreamed of. He would not wake up Fiona, if the fire did not wake her, she really needed to sleep. He hugged Laura instead.

Fiona and Dan bought a 34 hectares estate in the hills, north of the small village of Mountfield, in Southern Calmore. The estate was mainly hilly forest, but some areas could be developed into hiking and recreational fishing grounds, providing some income for the family.
The Emerald Falls was already developed into a beautiful tourist attraction.
The main source of income would without doubt be the Horse Ranch.
The private estate was huge, containing a large family home in natural stone and wood, with private stables and a small horse training ground next to the main building.

Part 4: Asta & Sake
While Laura was still a baby, her parents worked hard to establish the riding school, the equestrian sports center and their private horse ranch. They bought two horses, the mare Asta and the stallion Sake. It was difficult but also interesting to learn about horse care and riding, Fiona and Asta got their first tournament Top 10 result.
Although very busy, Laura was the center of the parents’ attention, she received a lot of love from both parents.
When not working or caring for the child, Fiona and Dan played music.

The family created a little farming area, producing their own eggs, meat and vegetables. It was usually Fiona’s domain, but Dan gave a hand, during the last months of her pregnancy.
Laura was now old enough to crawl around on her own, playing on the floor.
Otherwise, the days passed, taking care of the horses.
Having family time.
Or just enjoying life
Their investments paid of in abundance. Dan bought a sports car, not that he really needed one, but why not, it looked cool in the driveway.

Chapter 1: Childhood
Part 1: Exercise
Taking care of three children, two horses, pigs, chickens, the garden and their investments was quite stressful for Fiona and Dan, in this period.
It was a relief, that Laura grew older and could fulfil most of her own needs. No more diapers and milk bottles for her. She could even help a bit with the daily tasks, to keep the home nice and tidy.
Fiona mainly took care of the children and the garden. Dan was the main responsible for the horses and most of the kitchen work. He was doing some nice dishes. Cleaning and washing was shared responsibilities.
Fiona had a wish to try some grilled local cheese, Dan’s first attempt turned out to be nice quality.
Fiona was aiming to become a serious painter, she spent as much spare time with canvas, brush and oil colors, as she could. Dan and their mare Asta, joined one of the beginners jumping competitions. They came 2nd.
The family hired builders to construct a small private playground. Would be nice for the girls as they grew up.
Dan finished his 2nd book on horse care.

Laura is a child already! How fast they grow.
That's quite the car, Dan. I like the patterns used on Fiona's sweaters.
Congratulations on Sienna and Annabella. They will be a handful.
How are you creating the book covers? Is there an app or are you drawing them yourself?
Thanks for comments.

Yes, in this save I use a short lifespan and timer, aiming for several generations, in contrast to the other save.

I use photoshop, the saddle is from a horse I've got in another game (red dead redemption 2)

Part 2: Learning
The twins was now old enough to crawl around, playing with their toys on the porch.
Fiona and Dan spent a lot of time teaching the children
Sienna was a fast learner, the first to walk on her own.
It was getting colder, Fiona lit the fireplace, but sadly the heat was too much for the paper lamps, they caught fire several times.
Fiona and Dan decided to redecorate.
The twins was still using diapers, but hopefully not for long.
Winter came.

Part 3: Christmas Time
Dan finished his first fictional novel, just in time for the Christmas sale. It was an instant best seller. A drama about two parents found dead in a farm house.
One critic wrote: This is intense drama, seen from the points of view of the oldest daughter Laura, who may or may not be the murderer.
Quite controversially Dan used his daughter Laura’s portrait on the front cover.
In this period, it was very cold and snowy. The family spend must if the time inside, preparing for Christmas and taking care of the children.

Part 3: From the soil
Dan was contacted by a young man named Terry Scully, living in a nearby village, higher up the mountain. Dan was asked to deliver vegetables, eggs, meat and sometimes prepared food to the village. Dan agreed and met the man, seemingly living with his wife or girlfriend in a rather small cottage.
Fiona worked hard and improved on her painting in this period, this one definitely a keeper.
There was no nearby school for Laura and no public transport. The family taught her at home and that was fine, but she was missing interaction with kids her own age.
Sienna loved the pigs, always eager to follow the parent into the pig pen.
Fiona played small silly children’s songs for the kids, on the piano.
This was not planned at all, but Fiona got pregnant again. They wanted more children, but had expected to wait a few years, until the twins got a bit older.

Part 4: Life and Death
Dan was doing most of the repair and maintenance work, the first electrical application to break down was the dishwasher, he fixed it without getting electrocuted.
Fiona playing with Annabella
The relationship between Dan and his oldest daughter, had suffered some after the twins was born. Now that they could do more themselves, he spent more time with her.
At the same time training his own brain.
Fiona was carrying twins again. First another daughter came.
Sadly 25 minutes later, Fiona delivered a very week baby, she died within the next hour. The family buried her in the front yard. Post-mortem they named her Mona. They called the surviving twin Léa.
It was hard, but with four children to feed and care for, life just had to go on right away.
