The part about the co-stars not showing up is happening for me as well. For the fact that you cannot preform the romance scene is a mystery to me. I would recommend restarting your computer/game. I performed a romance scene today and it worked just fine, sorry I couldn't help!

You could do similar things in the free holiday celebration pack, as well as seasons game expansion. But, you cannot say bah humbug sadly. 😞

This has happened to me many times on PC. One time was when my sim was mortified, or very tense. I am not sure what it represents, but they were fine after being calmed down.
