  • I'm not sure that there are that many well known sims from many different EA worlds. Sunset Valley somehow rules supreme. I'd choose: 1. Nancy Landgraab 2. Agnes Crumplebottom 3. Gunther Goth Jamie Jolina, Gobias Koffi or Vita Alto would be honorable mentions, as those played major roles in my games. I guess, Bella…
  • @emorrill Thank you very much for the well wishes. I had the cat for such a long time that it's hard to get used to that she isn't there anymore. I catch myself checking whether she's lying somewhere in my path when I'm walking in a dark spot, or I expect her to come when I'm preparing food in the kitchen. It's still this…
  • @Karritz Thank you. Good luck with your Perfect Genetics Challenge, and congrats on being featured in the Friday Highlights! Yeah, I'm not sure I will be posting much in the near future, anyway. I had looked at AHQ, and I'm not sure about it, especially if it's temporary, anyway. The main reasons are different though.…
  • Hello everyone, I hope you have great time. I'm enjoying spring, if you can call it that, because it was a warm summer day in early April, which is a bit weird, but hey, nothing to complain about at this moment. I'm not really playing much, but just going on with that "lepacy" involving a blank slate of an island without…
  • Just some additions to my last update. Here's the hospital lot that I hadn't taken a pic of. And with that many newcomers to the island instead of just the people from one boat and their children, I thought it was finally time to build a town hall. It turned out to look like a church, but whatever. It will probably become…
  • I just wanted to add my latest trend in gardening: For the lazy gardener, we have our separate gardens behind the house on a separate lot. If you just want to harvest, make it a community lot you don't own.
  • Britown saw the "Night of the two shipwrecks", and I added some sims from the WA worlds. From Champs-Les-Sims, it were the Lambert, Fouchaud (I renamed them Durand) and Morel families, and from Shang Simla, we got the Lu and Hua families, plus the Min-Shen household. Egypt came later with a single family (Amin, I think). A…
  • Hello, everyone! Here I am again on what may be or may be not the last day this thread is open. Thanks a lot to those people who commented on the start of my "lepacy", especially @texansky . Glad you liked those humble beginnings! In this post, I want to just post the background for the second generation, which will see…
  • @Sprottenham I had a short game in Bridgewood once. It's nice to see that again. @Brandontaylor Great throwback posts! @Karritz I'm glad your videos work again for you. Just one comment: I personally would appreciate if you could turn the music volume in the videos a tad bit down, but I guess that's personal preference.…
  • I guess, this is a "find the difference" picture: There are several differences, but the main thing is that the asymmetric shape of the main building, which was meant to balance the original one story version, now looked weird to me. The Stewarts both had the "perfect garden" LTW, which is why they got the gardening…
  • @Silverofdreams30 Thanks. Yeah, I got that you are all set with the migration, but it looks as if my username from here will be gone, just as one example. By the way, your last updates looked great  . @lizzielilyy Thank you for your kind words. I'm usually not really into challenges, although I'll take a look. Even…
  • I'll just post something about what happened in my game for a change :D As my last game was basically a test how the game would hold up if I reduce the number of packs I load (to no surprise, it held up splendidly), I wanted to know what happens if I try something like a lepacy, although with different rules (like no…
  • The account at AHQ isn't necessarily the same account as here, as those are technically separate, like in my case. EA will try to match different accounts that run on the same email address during the transfer (you need to change your email here to match for that to happen). However, the AHQ account is the same account as…
  • Well, I think I got over my first reaction. If this thread gets moved, we can at least keep using it, although my posts will probably disappear because of a username mismatch. I should probably check in the general announcement thread (Edit: And check I did. Should be fine, as the email is the same). Yeah, I noticed I have…
  • I haven't been here in a while, and now these forums shut down and Imgur decided it's time to annoy me. I guess things change. I'll have to move soon, which will probably limit my gaming time at some point. It's kind of funny. There are long periods of time where you have the feeling that nothing ever changes, and then…
  • @Sprottenham Oh, I understand where you come from, and as I said, I appreciate that you responded to my situation. The only thing I wanted to express was: Don't feel bad for even potentially not reacting. All's well. That disaster with your lost files feels bad. Good that you could recover most of the stuff. I didn't know…
  • Thank you very much everyone for your encouraging and heartfelt comments about the situation with my mother. I knew already that this is a rather widespread issue, as quite a few of my friends had similar experiences in their families. It's sad to hear that some of you also have to deal with these all too common health…
  • That's related to bars or similar. Don't stick around until the bar closes, but leave beforehand, or your sim wakes up every night at the time the bar closes and sims get pushed out of the door. Just reset the sim.
  • Happy New Year, everybody! I hope you all "survived" the festivities without casualties and in a good mood :D For me, it was nice enough, but I guess the coming year will see some changes in my life. I noticed that my mom cannot really do much anymore without help. This was already clear during my last visit, but my call…
  • Hello, everyone, I hope you are all doing well! Lots of enjoyable posts from all of you! @emorrill Thank you! Your Kringle house looks lovely, too! @Sprottenham: Wow, that's an awesome project! Too bad that the EA App threw a wrench in the gears on that one. I'm still mostly playing a different game, but I also get a bit…
  • All in all, the game is still holding up great, but then again, we're not that far in. Let's see what happens when the house gets full and we have the generations roll over. I thought I'd show a few pics of the house. August Moon is a bit overdesigned, and I thought I keep it mostly intact, but tone it down somewhat. We…
  • Picking up from the last post, I have to admit that Agnes had a point in that case. I had completely forgotten we actually have a TV set in the bedroom, some model that must be a cherished heirloom from the days of the Flintstones. Soon it was time for little Derek to age up. His parents had taught him everything, which…
  • Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from the States! And to everyone else from this corner of the world, I hope you enjoyed this rainy and windy November day. I thought I'd post something. The game I started was going fine and is a few generations in, but that's not what I'm talking about today. I thought I'd test how the game…
  • @Puddinroy Hello! It's colorful! @Sprottenham Touché! I just have the feeling that the most interesting stories in my game have already been told. Or not, depending on your point of view. At the moment, it's just the usual family stuff. Which, of course, can be interesting, if you pep it up like you do. As I'm just playing…
  • I'm also still here and reading your stories quite regularly. I'm mostly busy with a different game though, and although I fire up Sims3 from time to time, it's that sporadic that I don't think anyone would know what I'm talking about if I posted some update every two months or so. But yeah, it got pretty quiet here. It's…
  • I can see that "administrator" thing happen if you have your games installed where the EA app wants to put them by default. However, I had all my Origin games installed on a different partition, which means that was never necessary. When I was forced to switch from Origin to the EA app, I just told the app to use my old…
  • I do it the "olden ways": Place a link to the Sims3 launcher on your desktop, Click that link to start said launcher. Clicking the link will, of course, start the EA app first, but most times, it will shortly blink up, then disappear to the background while the Sims3 launcher will finish loading. This won't work if the EA…
  • As long as there are people buying store stuff, it will probably stay around. When I see people solve their issues with, for example, the EA app by throwing more money at the game, I can't exactly find an incentive for EA to improve matters. Quite the opposite. @Goldmoldar I'm not sure what you are looking for in the EA…
  • I guess I had too many disappointments with new game releases in order to be overly hyped, but it's good that someone else tries to give it a go. And if I'm lucky, it's the game I want  . Cities Skylines is, indeed, a great example. I gave Sims 4 a fair shake (the EA app says 189 hrs), a good part of this modded,…
  • As I mentioned above, I was trying something new (for me). I wanted to see how it is to play on short lifespans. I didn't fully embrace it, as you will see if you read on, but I have seen enough to conclude that this isn't for me. It's basically just sims dying left and right, and after a while, it's all a blur. But I'm…
