Can Someone Help?

This is random, I know...
I recently lost my legacy save file from 2015. I decided to reuse the legacy home for my new save file/family. However, I am having an issue where no lighting is working in the downstairs half of the home. Upstairs, lights work. I've tried to redo the roofing but I'm not sure what else it could be?
If I upload the lot to the Gallery, is anyone willing to try to fix this issue for me? It's a lovely home- MASSIVE, and I'd hate to not be able to use it because there's no functioning lights downstairs :(

I'm touched by your problem, but I'm not certain I know enough to solve it. Here's to hoping someone else comes along that knows more than me. If not, tap me on my page and I'll give it a shot, okay?

Thank you! I’ve uploaded it to my gallery- username is KHS12 and the lot is called Legacy Home-Lights Fix?
Will need to tick the CC box

I hope someone with more expertise can solve the issue :(

I couldn’t find it on gallery but maybe because I’m on console if it has cc or something.

Did you check all the walls including spandrel? Usually it is not recognising your unlit place as being inside because the room is not fully closed or it’s not recognising it as so. Retracing the outline again with the wall tool might fix.

Also check your sim has money, it’s not off the grid etc I guess, but that doesn’t sound like the problem.

Me, too. Have you tried to upload it back to your My Library, and place it back onto the lot where you wish to put it? Sometimes that has worked for me.

Yes there is CC in it so that would have to be checked :( I downloaded it from Simprising years ago and it came with some CC but I haven't identified what it is lol. All objects I used are from EA!

I tried that, yes :( I'll try to reupload to the gallery!

Hi, I have just downloaded and placed the house and I have no problem with the downstairs lights. The table lights were lit as were the standing lamps. The trio lights were dull but seemed to be lit. Adding and deleting ceiling lights did what it should. There didn't seem to be any lights in the bathroom but when I put a light in it, it lit up nicely.

It's a beautiful house but way too big for my computer however, I will definitely check out your smaller houses for future use.

PS you should probably mention that you need to tick 'include custom content' to get the house to appear on the Gallery. Took me a while to think of that before I found it.

Sorry, this doesn't solve your problem. I have no idea why it would not work in your game.

Ugh while I’m happy it’s working for you, I wonder why it isn’t for me?! This is a brand new save, new lot, etc.

Try other houses in that lot? Try that house in a different lot?

Okay so I’m looking at it now- you’re right the lights are on BUT they are extremely dim. I have the dimmer turned all the way up and I’ve tried to delete and place new lights. The issue is specifically in the living room, kitchen, and entrance. The bedroom on the bottom story is well lit. What on earth ??

Ah I figured it out! Took me hours LOL but I had a gap in the roofing on one portion beside the kitchen/above the kitchen counters on that wall. I drug the roof over it and voila it’s lit! Thank you all who tried to help- I really appreciate it :)

So glad you figured it out. It can be so frustrating but also challenging trying to pinpoint what exactly is wrong. Roofs - shudder. Of course it would be a roof. :D

I’m so pleased 🙂. It’s always a roof or a spandrel or those things that go around the house 😂
