My sim went off to work at the lab and when she returned home it was covered in snow. I don't have the mod that makes it snow here so I am a bit confused.
It might be a mystery weather system or something. Every now and again you get random weather appear in places you don't expect, so that's the only thing I can think of for this. I can just imagine your poor sim arriving home being like "Erm, what happened!!?"
I haven't had snow in Del Sol Valley yet, but it looks gorgeous! Definitely mystery weather I think. It's happened a couple times for me in Oasis Springs.
I've never seen Los Angeles--where Del Sol Valley is said to take inspiration from--covered in snow like that, but I did see news coverage of a freak storm in Las Vegas several years ago. I like how in the picture the tippy-tops of the palm trees don't quite~ have a build up of fluffy snow on them yet, hehe--nice touch team that worked on developing snow for the game :D
I live in the San Joaquin valley in California..... where it can hit past 110 degree’s in the summer. And yes, once in a great while it snows here. The last time it snowed enough to cover the ground here was about 21 ago ( before my youngest started to school). It snowed so much that snow even covered the tree’s, and there was plenty of snow to build a snow man. we are warmer here than The Los Angeles area. So, it is very very, unusual, but it happens. The most beautiful and rare thing to see though is the Mojave desert covered in snow, I saw that as a child, and it lasted longer because it is considered a high desert (colder).

Our last day in Riverside, CA, it actually started snowing, too. Hadn't snowed there for about 22 years. At least where we were moving to, snow is the norm.
Uh, yeah. I saw that myself just yesterday. First, Diana's kids were complaining about being cold. So she went to my hardware store to buy a thermostat. When Wonder Woman got back home, there was snow on the ground. Imagine that. A Los Angeles like neighbourhood having snow on the ground. #weirdnessinthesims4
it snowed in tucson, arizona once. very odd, nobody showed up to school except a few because the idiots didn't bother to cancel it. so few people showed up they ended up cancelling the school day midway through.

My sims immediately took full advantage of this once-in-their-lifetime event!
