"Celebrity Walk" Arrrgh!!!

I got a Sim to five star status, and she now defaults to the super-slow Celebrity Walk all the time, even in her own home when no one's watching. WHY??? You have to toggle it off EVERY TIME they're walking anywhere. Please, please tell me there's a way to permanently toggle it off, or only toggle it on in "appropriate" situations when you, as a player, want your Sim to walk that way. So frustrating! It makes every simple action, like "go here", take twice as long either for the sim, or the player who has to toggle it off EVERY TIME. Did I mention this happens EVERY TIME? Is this a bug? What the heck?

Do you have 5 star sims? Do they NOT use the walk all the time? I hope to high heaven it IS a bug!

It is a bug. I'm crying about it since yesterday. I would post a link to the thread to exactly this bug but this forum is paranoid and won't let me post links. Or give me the ability to edit my posts. Great. You have to just believe me and wait for someone else to post the link.

My sim got the celebrity walk thing and now does it all the time.
I know I am supposed to be able to say "walk normally".. and she will.. for exactly 1 segment of whatever she is doing. And since it's on the last page of the interactions, it's horrible too.

Example
I tell my sim to pay bills at the mailbox, then take a shower.
Sim "celebrity walks" to the mailbox... which takes a super long time. So I command to use normal walk.
Sim arrives at mailbox, pays bills
Then "celebrity walks" back to the house to shower, so I have to command... again.. to use normal walk.

Am I doing something wrong? is there a way to make the default "off" for this walk? because it's really slow and annoying.

I was just about to go make a thread to get some help on this issue too. I can see enjoying the fancy stroll during a sunset walk down the boulevard, but sheesh, its too slow to walk that way to the shower! This needs a switcheroo.

Get Famous, some annoying things: Yes, only being able to control the 'Celebrity Walk' for just a few seconds is very annoying. Another annoying thing: in my game, the new stereo "GrammyFone" constantly turns itself (or by Sims without command) on. Sims are listening while their fun level is already 100% green, instead of finishing up their meal, project, or socializing (they've already maxed-out their music skill). I always have my finger on the mouse ready to click 'turn off', again and again and again. Sometimes I just need to put the stereo into the household inventory! (I have to remember to put it back if I've got a toddler in that household.) Another annoying thing is when two Sims are working on projects together (for example both are writing books at the same table or they are painting together), is that they are compelled to speak with each other when their social level and friendship level is already at 100% green. Again, it slows up their project completion time. Also at the 'Starlight Accolades' awards ceremony, sometimes the moderator does not step back from the mic to let my Sim accept his award. I've had to go into build mode to move the microphone so that my Sim can accept his award and finds in his household inventory (of course I move the mic back so awards can continue before I leave 'Studio PBP') later.

They should have called this, "Get Godlike" because that how this "Celebrity Walk" looks like. Judith doing it all the time in front of my house. If i would just be evil enough to kill her off already, she is getting annoying. She no celebrity, she is a stalker!!

I downloaded the mod that made it go away and I'm so grateful for it. I like the celebrity shine tho. She puts that on when its time to hit the town.

Seriously why is it that when a new style is introduced the behaviors have to be so annoying. It's not like EA can't do it right, it's why do you have to do it wrong? Wrong meaning obsessively annoying

I hate this walk too. Not only does my Sim look like a tosser, it takes him ages to get from point A to point B.

The mod is a game-saver until this is patched... When I saw the most recent patch, I was so excited. Nope. I never use mods or cheats, so I was sorry to have to do it. (The only time I shift-ctrl-c is when I have to reset a sim... like when one of the cats got stuck under a dining table. Even moving the table in buy/build didn't make the cat "work.") That dumb walk, though, if the player can't turn it off and on, is a nightmare. Totally worth modding it out for now.

I think the walk is hilarious and very fitting for sims like Judith, but the bug making it stick is super annoying. Hope it's fixed soon!
