@Shades302 it certainly is! I hadn't noticed. I think I saw that happening in a video and they said it was not the final build. I'll have to remember to fix that.

Out of curiosity, have you gone fishing over at the island with the lighthouse yet, there is a fishing spot in my game that is backwards there, only 1 tho, would like to confirm if it is only me xD
Here's my next animated canine. Charlie B Barkin from the 1989 animated movie, All Dogs Go to Heaven. He sure looks a lot better than the Charlie I made in The Sims 3.
Wow. I barely uploaded him to the Gallery and already 1 person Dled it and 2 people faved it. I don't mean to brag, but I think he looks better than the default GSD in the game. I have issues with the excessive amount of fur on that model.

Hey all! I have a lot to say - I've got some thoughts after my first day of playing and some pictures to share as well!! Let's just start by saying that my first day of playing has not at all gone as planned As I'd mentioned in some other threads, I had taken today off work because I had some extra PTO to use up. I planned on downloading the game last night and playing for awhile and then having all day today-Sunday to play. I went up to bed to lie down and take a nap but was more tired than I realized so I just decided to wait until this morning to download the game and play, no big deal. Well, then this morning I woke up with what was probably the worst migraine I've ever had in my life - if not the worst, one of the worst. I decided to just stay in bed and take some medicine and try to sleep it off. I woke up a few hours later with a text that the girl who had agreed to cover me today called in This is common for her, unfortunately. I texted my co-worker back asking if they needed me to come in after all (of course secretly hoping they said no - not because of wanting to play but because of my migraine) and hadn't heard anything back for a little while. So I decided to head downstairs and try to play a little bit while I waited to hear back. I could not focus whatsoever - my head was just killing me. Thankfully I got the message back that they were fine and I didn't need to come in. I tried getting something to eat and drinking some water to see if that would help and went back to the game.
As I had planned, I went into my current legacy and added an elder dog with the goal of having the gen 2 heiress fall in love with him and have him spark and interest in her to become a vet. Things were going awesome, the dog and her ended up getting really close really fast and I was super excited! Then things went south...dog got sick. I had her take him to the vet. They checked in at the kiosk and a notification came up for them to wait until he could be seen. I wasn't really paying attention to the time, I was busy focusing on having her comfort him and keep him occupied until they could be seen. Suddenly I looked at the clock and realized it was 5:30 PM in game - she had been sitting there since 7:30 am!!! I put all the walls down and looked around and could not find a vet on the premises anywhere! I was just going to say forget it and send them home figuring they'd try again the next day, but I couldn't. The little house icon on her picture was grayed out and it said she couldn't go home at this time. I quit the game because I remembered I had forgotten to remove my mods/CC so I thought maybe that was the problem. I got all of that stuff backed up and moved and went back in game. This time two vets popped up when I loaded onto the lot, so I thought we were in good shape....except the vets just kept petting/interacting with the dog, nobody actually treated him and I was still unable to send them home. At this point I was just annoyed and frustrated, which was not helping my headache at all, so I just saved and exited to the main menu. I will go back and mess around with it some more later and see if I can figure it out without having to abandon the save, but I did manage to get a shot of her comforting him while they waited. So this is my gen 2 heiress Dusty with her elder Canaan Spike.
At this point I decided to try to just start a new save so I could play around with the pet career and actually play with the pets a little bit and see what I thought about the pack. I got as far as creating a new family and decided I just couldn't take it anymore and went back upstairs to take some more medicine and go back to sleep. FINALLY, after 12+ hrs of dealing with the migraine, 2 rounds of headache medicine, total 5 hours of sleep and some food/water my migraine was gone, at least enough to the point I could function. It took another couple hours before it was gone completely but I was feeling much better. So I came downstairs and loaded up my new save. First I tried having both Preston and Jana work as vets - I have to admit, this was a little tough. You have to be pretty hands on with the examinations, so it was sort of tricky flipping back and forth between the two to complete their exams. I admittedly don't play with running my own businesses a lot so it may be no problem for those that do. In between exams, you have to clean up messes that the sick pets leave behind - I completely forgot about the roomba so I will be adding one of those in when I go back in game tomorrow. Anyway, I decided to just focus on one of them being a vet for now so I can just play around with it and see how it all works. Here are a few shots I took of Jana working as a vet. I LOVE the vet career so far - it does get a little repetitive, and I've yet to have anyone come in wanting any sort of surgery so all I've been doing is treating the same few illnesses over and over. Having said that, it's still a lot of fun. I've been wanting a vet career for awhile now so I'm really enjoying it.
Back at home, when I created the family I decided to give them a pet raccoon This little guy's name is Oscar and I really love him! He's pretty darn cute. I was a little disappointed to see that some of the interactions you can do with dogs aren't available for cats. And the whole training system is a little hard to understand at first. If they do something good, I'll see a 'praise' option come up but it doesn't specify what you're praising them for - it just says 'praise'. I think it might show an icon when you do this but I've missed it the few times I've tried so I can't say for certain. One thing I saw that I loved was that, when his bowl was empty, he paced back and forth in front of it until my sim filled it. I love the little touches of realism. He also loves hugs
The not being able to control them thing hasn't really bothered me. There are a couple of things I've run into that made me a little disappointed I couldn't click to see their needs but overall it's not a bother. It definitely does make them feel more realistic. My elder dog that I added to my main save got sad often. I don't mind that so much, but when I would have my sim ask what's wrong, all it would tell me was that he was feeling sad and a hug or treat might help. The thought bubble just showed a rain cloud. So if there was something specific making him sad, I had no idea what it was. That was a little frustrating. And maybe there wasn't anything specific, I'm not sure. Or maybe water was the issue - he was afraid of the bathtub. Maybe the rain cloud is a reference to the fact that water upsets him. I'm not sure, I couldn't tell and that's the part that was a little annoying. As for my raccoon, there was a point where he had the orange/uncomfortable color around him. Asking what was wrong prompted a notification that he would like a clean litter box. Both litter boxes I have in my house look clean (one is the self cleaning one, one isn't) but I tried to click on the one that doesn't self clean in case it really did need to be cleaned. Clicking on it only gave me the option to put it in my sim's inventory, no option to clean. Again, IDK if they're functional/able to be cleaned or not - I'd assume they are but maybe they're not. Point is, there shouldn't have been a problem anyway as the upstairs self-cleaning litter box was already clean so he should have been able to use that one. I ended up having to take him to the vet clinic with my sim when she went to work for him to use one of the boxes I placed there. I did also have one other glitch where the action to bill a pet's owner during a visit just kept cancelling out. This was annoying because I couldn't move on to another patient until I billed that one. I ended up having to quit without saving and reload to get it to work properly.
And to wrap up for now, one of my favorite new interactions is for the sims to "pamper on couch" - I don't know if this option is available for dogs as well or just cats, but it's super cute to watch. Makes me think of myself with my own cats So far I'm loving this expansion overall, though the few glitches I've had could become frustrating if they continue every time - particularly the ones I experience when trying to take a sick pet to the vet. But I'll get back in game tomorrow and see if I can work around that issue!
