The game doesn't recognize a counter as a "dining spot". I think that's why they gave us bar height tables. What if you used a one tile table in place of a counter? line a few up side by side and place chairs on one side but the other side must be kept open to the waiter can serve the food.

Thanks Danny♥ I tried that...it did work, but it took away from the 'feel' of my Diner. Without the counters, it just doesn't look right.

I didn't now it was out - there's probably some people who don't either.

I've been off the forums for a while - I haven't got a clue what's going on these days.

This thing is not really mentioned in the General Discussion area.

Did you know that the Food Critic will show up to NPC owned restaurants while your sim is a guest there. My sim was invited here on a date by her bf, the restaurant is Chez Sul Sul from the gallery!

I was under the impression that the feed integration could be done at all tables as long as your sims where next to each other , that's kinda disappointing that it's not

They must be sitting side by side.

Today I learned that some sims, who are supposed to be seated together, don't arrive at the same time.

Mortimer and Bella came for dinner.. well they forgot to bring their son with them.. and he had to walk there to eat dinner with his parents like they planned. He only arrived an hour later after his parents did... but he found their table, and he eventually got to eat with them.
Lets make The Sims 4 great again!

That's because like all other packs, it has its own designated area. So posts are here and not in general discussion

Townie Sims passing/hovering near your table steal your food and drink.
Tomorrow has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.

@bouquetcatcher I wasn't able to find out if the cook uses the stuff in the fridge, I'm sorry. I forgot about it and then, because I wanted to see the visitor's side, I sold the venue and- maybe next time I build a diner I'll think about it to include apples and then watch if the numbers change for the fruitsalad on the menu.

Did you know that you can add your sim's caught fish to the new aquarium? They will swim around ^^. But you can only add four fish per aquarium.

    and related:
Did you know that you can fill your fridge, like on home lots, with self grown produce and add your fish out of your sim's inventory? Now I'll have to try and see if the cook uses them in the meals.

Yes the Aquarium size is annoying to me. The old fish tank can also hold the fish you catch in it but it can hold 6! So the larger tanked Aquarium holds less fish which seems so odd to me. It's cool and they are lovely but they should definitely increase the number of fish one can store in them.

Did you know if you reserve a table with an umbrella over it in a restaurant you won't be able to use the placemat.

It says there isn't any room on the table.

    Update
This may not happen with longer tables but it s the small circle ones I have it happen on.

I'll test the larger ones later.

In the video and screenshots EA used you can see the couple on a date sharing their food... but I don't ever see that option when I have my own sims go out to a dinner date .. am I doing something wrong??

I read that the couple have to sit next to each other to feed each other.

They also cannot be currently eating their food.

They also have to be sitting side by side at the long table by the booth.

This is the only table that seems to allow that

My Sims keep getting up to get food themselves. One pulled a plate out of her inventory (I did not know it was there) and started eating. In the meantime the waiter could not deliver her food because no table space. I thought it was funny. :)

I've had the option come up on a picnic bench. But obviously not many people will have picnic benches inside their restaurants. Maybe outside, though.
