I plan on getting it. @JoeWow tells me it is "the greatest game in the history of the universe." I wouldn't want to miss out. If I end up disappointed I can now blame @JoeWow for deceiving me.
No, because:
Too many missing features.
Looks boring.
Price too high/can't afford it.
I have The Sims 2 Ultimate.
No Toddlers, Teens are oversized.
Pools are gone.
The Lies.
No, I'm not getting it.
- Too many features are missing
- An entire lifestage is removed
- Teens, adults, elders are the same height
- No CASt
- Loading screens
- The gameplay is too goal-oriented
- Norwegian Origin is charging approx. $94 for the deluxe edition
Besides, I've got TS2 Ultimate Collection and the whole TS3 series (minus Katy Perry....). And to be honest, I'd rather play any of those than TS4.
Looks exciting
Leveling skills seems like fun now
Amazing art style
Beautiful worlds
Lots of family interactions
Emotions effect the sims more
CAS
Build mode is so much faster and easier
Yes. I enjoy what I've seen and look forward to some of the old features being added. I feel that the game has a good foundation for what can become an ultimate Sim experience.
I am a long-time Sims player. I remember being a young kid and seeing a friend's older sibling playing it and being fascinated. Through the original Sims and Sims 2, I collected every single expansion pack. I played less with The Sims 3, but I own it and came back to it recently after having not played it for quite some time. I was surprised when, after patching, there were new features and items that I didn't remember. And in all honesty, I don't mind waiting for content via patches. Nothing is perfect at release (believe me; I was one of those who had pre-ordered SimCity). But when I think back to how the franchise has progressed, it hasn't always had toddlers or aspirations or such nuanced traits (all my original Sims were Cancers because I wanted Sims that would do a little bit of everything). Some folks are saying one step forward and two steps backward but I'm willing to give it time. I know that I will get drawn into the time-suck that is the Sims 4 regardless if there are pools or toddlers or height scaling.
