Has anyone had problems with the expensive dew collector?

I was trying to buy one, and it kept looking just like the beat up one with duct tape. I finally had to clone and make a standalone version, which looked correct. Curious if it's something in my game or a known problem (couldn't find anything about it).

I haven’t opened up my game in a little while. I think it was two patches ago. But at that time, it was working fine and looked fine. Not sure if something has changed recently.
