Snow in Strangervillie gone

I was happy to see a desert with snow after the stupid plant was defeated even if it was just with the weather machine, but even that got taken away. Thank you guys, it doesn't snow there and in Oasis Springs but it don't stick anymore. Why can't I have a high desert like where I live, is it so hard to put snow in a dessert. I think the problem is with island living expansion pack changed the the sand so that it don't get a snow layer. Strangervillie looked so good covred in snow.

However, I guess I will never win so I will retreat to The Sims 3 at least in that game I can do whatever I want and not what the game tells me to do.
