Non Stop Trash Removal

@SimGuruNick, I really never paid much attention to this, but it's recently has gotten out of hand. I'm going to say starting around February of this year. All of my sims, no matter if I'm playing them in a house or in an apartment - are OBSESSING over taking out the trash.
One sim does it, then five minutes later another sim is taking something out. And it goes on and on and on. And it's not as if they will use the trash can in the house, no, they have to use the one all the way outside.
My one family has two cats, and there were around 7 - 8 piles of fur laying on the ground. Instead of picking up all the piles, they pick one up at a time. Then instead of dropping it in the indoor trash can, they walked all the way outside and around the house. They did this 8 times!
Is anyone else having this issue?
Has anyone made a mod to stop this?
