How do I get a Sims 4 townie into CAS?

I wanted to edit my sim's restaurant employees in CAS, which I have done before using testingcheats and then clicking "Modify in CAS". Lately, whenever I've tried it, it only brings up my current family in CAS, not the sim that I had clicked on.
I've been using the closets in Get Together with cas.fulleditmode but you cannot edit the name, traits, or age (and I found that with City Living, it's very difficult to pronounce and figure out the names, which is why I like to change them)
Is there a solution to this or an alternative way?
