Sims 3 Won't install?

After upgrading to Windows 10, my game launcher wouldn't work, and would shut down, so I thought to reinstall all of the games because I saw in another forum that a clean installation might help. But, now, the base game won't install period. After about a minute of attempting to install, it flashes a screen that says "Transfer error". I'm not sure what this means but can anyone help? Thanks a million! :/

As @phoebebebe13 already mentioned in your other post, there was a Windows update released on Dec 29 that might be getting in the way here.

windows 10 update could be one issue but if you uninstalled you might have left files behind and why the game wont reinstall

Uninstall the base game, Use ccleaner to clean your computer registry, reinstall the base game and patch
