Well, Maxis, have you been playing around with the physics of puddles again? (For the hot tub, I'm guessing.) Because up until last patch and Patio stuff, puddles did the decent thing and spawned away from plumbing objects. Now, however, they are just as reckless and devoid of physics as their Sims 2 and Sims 3 counterparts, and spawning right underneath said plumbing objects. And my Sims, just like their Sims 2 and Sims 3 counterparts, cannot blasted-well get at them to mop them up unless I, just like I did for the Sims 2 and Sims 3 counterparts, go into build/buy and move said plumbing objects out of the way.
