Please Color In The World Map

Dear Devs,
I'm okay with a two-dimensional map, but the washed out bluishgreywhite everywhere is driving me crazy. I catch myself mousing over it subconsciously assuming that the color will pop up as it does with the neighborhood sections, but it doesn't.
The cartoon style is even pretty, you don't have to super texturize it; just finish filling it in please? It gives the impression of being incomplete.
I like the style of the TS4 environments at ground level, but for as often as we end up in the world map for travel etc. please give us something reasonably detailed to appreciate while we're there. 8D ?
