TS4 doesn't like Skype

When I have The Sims 4 running, my Skype suddenly becomes unstable and logs me out at random intervals.
This has never been a problem before now, and does not happen when the game is not running.

Anyone else been having similar issues?

A lot of games do this. Skype uses more resources than it really needs. There's not much you can do, I'm afraid.
