regarding the 9800GT this card is old so outdated tech and because its old it could be ok for part of the series but again since its old im assuming if you have one its been used for years so wear and tear should reduce its ability to run ok
then I following this step too, but i'm stuck in change GraphicRules.sgr because its different with the sims 3.
read the thread I gave you I dont think you need the sgr files in the sims 4 its a different game than sims 3. adding the game to nvidia control panel. I dont think you have the adaptive option on the 930m card so use on option instead
@phoebebebe13 , In my control panel, the vertical sync only have 3 option use the 3D global application setting, off and on. or maybe I pick a wrong driver for my graphic card?

On the other page you have a 930 m yet you only have a weak i3 processor and two gb of computer ram total? Are you giving us two different dxdiag because I have never seen a computer with only 2gb ram with a 930m card . You can't run this game on 2gb ram

Yes nearly all modern laptops have 8GB ram. And the 930 isn't all that old. *puzzled* LOL

Yes on 8gb. I have seen a few still with only 4gb but they are usually low end. The 930m is only like a year old and it's never been pared off with 2gb computer ram total that I have ever seen. 2gb ram now a days gets you a tablet or a very low end laptop
I've got a TOSHIBA Satellite L50-C-1GX (if you google it a currys/pc world website should be one of the first which is where I bought it from I just can't post links yet!) I've been playing sims 4 on this since January and it works fine, it's got Intel HD Graphics which is red on this thread and I do personally play it at a lower resolution and I don't really mind because at least I still get to play! However I read a thread that said playing a game on a integrated graphics card will break my laptop... is that true because now I'm not sure whether to play it even though I spent every single penny I have on this laptop as it was the best I could afford, if I knew I couldn't play sims on it I would've just bought a cheaper one for the use of the internet etc... :(

It will not "break " it right away, However it can put a huge amount of stress on the graphics chip and the motherboard which could possibly lead to damage with heavy prolonged use. It's basically putting unwanted stress on something that was not designed for gaming.

So I should stop playing sims on it?
If it's all you have then i wouldnt stop.. just dont play extremely long sessions and buy a very good cooling pad. CoolerMaster and thermaltake make good ones.

Thank you! How long would you say as maximum session? Just to be cautious and make sure I'm thinking the right amount of time ;) I'll be sure to save up for a cooling pad and play a small amount until then!

It is a old card if I am not mistaken; I don't think you will have a very good experience with the Sims games.
Notifying...
@chesterbigbird
@phoebebebe13
I believe that card is from 2006-2007 so its a really old card. Its a weak basic card. Not very good for gaming.

Suggests the game already supports and recognizes the card.

simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Getting_new_graphics_cards_recognized_by_the_game
but I got stuck change the graphic rules.sgr
please help, I really want to play the sims 4. thanks
yes but they might need to add the game to nvidia control panel
read the thread I gave you I dont think you need the sgr files in the sims 4 its a different game than sims 3. adding the game to nvidia control panel. I dont think you have the adaptive option on the 930m card so use on option instead
or maybe I pick a wrong driver for my graphic card?
here is my operating system.

I am surprised you can play the game at all. Your pc is VERY low end and you do not have enough ram.
You don't meet the requirements to play.

On the other page you have a 930 m yet you only have a weak i3 processor and two gb of computer ram total? Are you giving us two different dxdiag because I have never seen a computer with only 2gb ram with a 930m card . You can't run this game on 2gb ram
They gave us two different computers. On the other page they posted a 930m as a second card. Ever see a laptop with a 930m and 2gb computer ram total? LOL The only computers I have seen with 2gb ram total is very low end with intel graphics only
Yes nearly all modern laptops have 8GB ram.

It will not "break " it right away, However it can put a huge amount of stress on the graphics chip and the motherboard which could possibly lead to damage with heavy prolonged use. It's basically putting unwanted stress on something that was not designed for gaming.

So I should stop playing sims on it? :(
If it's all you have then i wouldnt stop.. just dont play extremely long sessions and buy a very good cooling pad. CoolerMaster and thermaltake make good ones.

Thank you! How long would you say as maximum session? Just to be cautious and make sure I'm thinking the right amount of time ;) I'll be sure to save up for a cooling pad and play a small amount until then!
