Sim unable to talk to ghosts. Please help!

The only expansion packs I have right now are World Adventures and Pets and I have the latest patch as of at least a month ago. Now that I got that info out of the way... my issue is that when my Sim goes to the graveyard to chat it up with some ghosts, they won't stick around to chat. They show up and I click on "friendly introduction" and they just float on out of the graveyard as if I didn't click to talk to them. I tried every Sim night in the game and no luck. I even tried again with a different Sim in a different town thinking maybe it was that certain town, no luck still. I got Pets last night and I went to the graveyard in the new Appaloosa Plains town and nothing. Is there something wrong with my game or is there something in the patch that was possibly meant for Ambitions and ended up effecting my game?

First try this:
1: Move your sims 3 folder from documents to your desktop (cut and paste)
2: Open launcher and run the game (you will have no saves, cc or mods)
3: See if the problem is still there

If this solves the problem:
1: Check for bad CC/Mods in the file on desktop (great program for this is: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=387006)
2: delete your cache files from file on desktop*
3: put folder back in documents (replace the one thats there with your old folder)
4: See if your problem is fixed
5: If not try deleting contents of the DCBackup folder*

If all that doesn't help something is corrupted in your folder somewhere and I am unsure about how to go about finding it.
