Lady Ravendancer Goth's Book o' Spells not working right

I purchased the Lady Ravendancer Goth's Book o' Spells from The Sims 3 Store. Well I have it in my game play. I have my sim learn a spell. The green bar appears over the sim while reading it. Then once the sim is done reading it my sim is moved to another spot in the room. And they cannot do any spells. I do not know what is wrong with it. I purchased it so my sims could do spells and it isnt working. Can anyone help or have any ideas? Thank you.
