Heres some simple things i've found about customisation, they're all pretty basic, and probably all already known, but it might help.
Please tell me if you can think of others.
If you want to reculour walls or floors, make sure the option 'cover all contagious walls/floors' is checked, not 'cover single square'
You can make different aspects of your design (i.e making cupboard doors and cupboard surfaces) the same shade by clicking and dragging the selected colour to where you want it. Patterns can be cloned in the same way.
Similarily, patterns and textures can be transfered from one object to any other object by dragging the texture from the pannel and placing it on the object you want to recolour.
Does that make sense?
