I'm so confused - high school expulsion

My sim who has an A was randomly expelled from high school and was not given a reason. I'm so confused. He wasn't given any warnings or anything. And the popup right before the expulsion was that he was doing great and the teachers were impressed with him. What the heck? Why was he expelled? This is my first time playing through the High School Years pack so I don't know how common this is.

Awhile back people were saying that teen sims were being expelled too ( I’m can’t remember what they said about it though ). Also you might want to check AHQ and see if others are having that problem. I do remember them saying they couldn’t get their teen back in school afterwards. They had to complete school on the computer.
But you might check and see if there is a cheat to put them back in school. I’m pretty sure there is another thread on this from earlier.

They could probably use some more info on that thread if you have time to add yours.
Oddly, a previous thread on this issue with almost 200 me-toos was reported fixed, but the fix had to do with re-enrollment after expulsion, not with getting expelled in the first place.
