A question about conflicts

I have some Cc windows that don’t work. Other folks say they work in their game and I must have something that conflicts with them in mine so they don’t work. I’ve been told I need to uninstall and reinstall all my CC to find this conflict. This would be quite an undertaking so I want to clarify something before I start.
If the file I’m having issues with is content produced by another player, that doesn’t mean the conflicting file is not an “official” file does it? Or that just because the file is for a window, the problem might not be another window. It could be a door or a painting, or a petunia or a tattoo for a Sim’s backside, couldn’t it? I’m just trying to figure out how involved this process is.
