this is seriously dumb and discouraging for new members, surely there are better ways to keep trolls away. I'm only interested in picture sharing threads so I've only made a lot of posts i don't wanna and I'm still not a member... These rules are gonna drive a lot of people away from the forum or cause them to write stupid stuff like i am right now. if I'm gonna have to keep posting tp get member status I'm 100% turning troll before i get there with these stupid rules. And i only came here with intention to take part in creative corner but now I feel frustration rather than inspiration.

These rules have been in place for quite a substantial amount of time and help prevent Spam bots and trolls. Be advised that should you break the rules you'll be moderated the same as a full member.

Awesome! So I think I just need points now, what is the best way to earn more points? I don't want to be begging people to like my posts lol

Hi, I was just wondering where can I view the 'points' (It said within the grey area but I can't see anything marked 'points' there). How do I edit my profile or is that function not available to me yet? And are posts essentially, replies to a thread?

Hello @Christinaluvs Welcome to the forums,
You need to have 25points and 15 posts before you can become a full member and can then change your profile picture , post pictures, have a signature, start new threads, edit posts , post links that show up correctly, and have quotes appear in grey boxes ,This thread explains about it. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/934205/small-change-for-new-members#latest
You can view your points by going to your activities wall section, and looking on the left hand side. There is a section there that says your points. You can get to your activities wall section by pressing your forums name.
Posts are replies to a thread.
I came on to try and figure out a problem I'm having and now I have to gain all these points and posts to even be able to do that...it kind of sucks but I can understand why it's a thing. Any tips on how to get those faster?

In order to be able to posts pictures and have an avatar, you first need to become a full member because as of right now you are considered a new member. New members are restricted from starting new threads, posting pictures and links, having an avatar or changing one, sending private messages to other members. In order to become a full member, you will need to have 25 points, 15 posts and an account older than 24 hours. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/934205/small-change-for-new-members#latest
A link with a list of badges that gives out points. There is a page that explains what each badge is but it's broken for the time being. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/770609/member-or-new-member-everything-you-need-to-know/p236
And this link is a tutorial on how to use the site.. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/811263/a-complete-forum-tutorial/p1
A link for a thread for New Members to introduce themselves to the community. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/817478/hello-come-and-introduce-yourself/p1
I would suggest for all new members to go and read the rules of the site before posting...
A link to Forums Etiquette, Warning/Banning Process and the Forum Rules... http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/forum-rules
And I would also suggest reading the thread about necroposting as well as there is a rule about it in the rules section. I would also suggest checking the title of thread as well as the location of the thread since we have older Sims games sharing this forum. An example would be if you're a TS4 player and have an issue with the game, please check to make sure that they thread that you have brought up isn't a TS2/TS3. I have provided links at the bottom of this post for "New Members" to be able to posts their issues in. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/946943/necroposting#latest
For any New members who want to get their post/point count up, the best thing that I would advise you to do is to find threads that may interest you and join in on them or go to the Off Topic section and join in on some of the word/story games over there. The posts made over in the forum section will go towards your post count whereas the posts made on your wall and the Activity Feed doesn't go towards the total post count. The only thing that you will get if you should make any post over on your wall or Activity Feed will be any Insightfuls, Likes or Awesomes as they will go towards your total points count. Hopefully creating your posts on other threads will also increase your points... https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories
And for anyone who may have any issues with TS3, here's the link for New Members to post their TS3 issues in.
Sims 3 issues http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/893122/thread-for-new-members-to-post-their-sims-3-game-issues#latest
The EA team has moved The Sims 4 Help Center section to the Answers HQ Forums now. The Sims 4 Help Center section on this forum is now "Read Only". So you will need to click on this link if you have any issues that you want to report to EA and hopefully get the help that you need... https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/ct-p/the-sims-4-en
And for name changes, you can request them on either @Rtas or @EA_Mai page...
The BB code in my signature still doesn't work, even though I'm considered to be an member. Does anyone know to which guru/mods I need to direct to request to fix that? (the same mods as mentioned in the previous post?) I think (assume) my role is not set correctly.
I just joined the forum today and was hoping to get your guy's input! I'm attempting to do a Sim's Next Top Model Challenge (since theres all the antm drama on twitter lol) I wanted to make it where I let all of you guys vote for who you want to win!! I have a poll ready to go and models ready I just need help with where I should post my challenge and pictures? :o I'm a lil confused how to earn points sorry!!
