While it would be nice to keep the game fresh with new DLCs, I do think that the Sims Team needs to focus more on fixing bugs first. After all this time, for example, we're still having that issue where all of the randomly-generated townies look the same, wear the same clothes, and have the same names. This is especially…
A while back, there was a glitch where everyone, not just teens, could tell a gross joke. It was reported, but at the same token, nobody really wanted it fixed because there really wasn't any need to restrict that interaction to teens in the first place. Because of that, it never got many me too's on HQ. This, however,…
Sorry for resurrecting this old thread almost an entire year later, but I think it just became relevant again. You know that big patch we had recently, probably the biggest one yet? Well, this apparently hasn't been fixed in that patch! This honestly surprised me. You'd think that a bug as prevalent as this one would have…
Miss: - Burglars - Home phones and prank calls - TS2 style memories - TS2's special cutscenes for significant moments in a Sim's life - THE IGNORE BUTTON ON CHANCE CARDS - Wants and fears - Turns ons/turn offs - TS2 romantic interactions - TS2/TS3 style babies that can be carried around, among other things - Children who…
Seriously, there are some bugs that have been in the game for at least three years and STILL haven't been fixed. One of the most glaring bugs in the game has only been partly fixed, and it's been a problem since GTW came out. I'm talking about the bug where Sims will "discover" undisguised aliens. And yes, people were…
Get to Work What can I say? They released this EP with SO many bugs, many of which haven't been fully fixed yet, and it's been three years. For example, the alien discovery bug that causes other Sims to "discover" an alien when they aren't even in disguise, often making the other Sim unreasonably angry and making the poor…
Honestly, I'm starting to realize that the fruitcake isn't actually my biggest problem with the welcome wagon. What this thread really should've been about is how cancelling it results in a relationship loss with every one of your neighbors. Not only that, but it also happens if the welcome wagon prompts while your Sim is…
I'm not entirely sure about that. Sim Guru Nick just posted on a bug reports thread on the issue. He says that this toddlers, children, and teens ignoring the tradition is apparently by design. At the same token, upon looking at SimsVIP's rundown of the traditions, toddlers also ignore the grilling tradition for some…
Yeah, that's pretty much what I used to do as well. "Hey, what happened to the fruitcake?" "Fruitcake? What fruitcake? I don't know what you're talking about."
It's a new feature that was churned out with one of the recent patches. Basically, whenever someone outside of the played household dies that any of your Sims even only somewhat know, they'll get a call informing them that this Sim has died. Only problem is, Sims get these calls not only for close friends, lovers, or…
It's actually worse than that. They get a +2 sad moodlet for not just 24 hours, but for two days. Sims also get this moodlet from disliked people or even enemies dying, the moodlet saying that a "friend" died. Um, I'm sorry, what?
Yeah, I was thinking of making a poll like this as well, so kudos! I think it'll be helpful for the Gurus, who actually seem to be requesting feedback on this feature and its current state. I like the concept of this feature, but it's definitely really excessive in its current state. I think Sim reactions to these calls…
Yeah, I definitely don't think that the death calls should be done away with entirely. I do think that the mourning periods need to be scaled depending on relationship with the deceased, though. A two-day +2 mourning moodlet from a person that your Sim said hi to once is way excessive. For that it should either be a brief…
I agree. To me, this feels like a feature that was quickly churned out and released with the patch without doing extensive play-testing with it first. Toddlers are somehow getting these calls, too. That shouldn't even be possible since they aren't even supposed to have phones!
What, really? Sims are also getting a +2 sad moodlet when an enemy dies??? That makes NO sense! I agree with the above. When it's an enemy dying, then the Sim getting the call should either get a happy moodlet or none at all, depending on their traits. Evil, Mean, or Hot-Headed Sims would probably be happy, everyone else…
It makes me happy knowing that the Gurus are aware of this issue and are listening to us. Thank you SO much! Like I said, with the way that the death calls are implemented in their current sate, my Sims are in a constant state of mourning, even over people they barely knew or only met once. Even toddlers are getting these…
Hm, I see. That really is a shame. I do hate to say this, but if this is the only way that the death calls can be implemented, then I don't think I want them. They really do make the game unplayable for me. Like I said before, my Sims are in a constant state of sadness now. Whenever I think I'm finally about to get rid of…
I feel like the solution would be simple, though. Don't completely get rid of the calls. Even for acquaintances, it would be a nice touch to get a call. However, I don't feel that Sims should be getting such a long and powerful sad moodlet over the deaths of Sims who are only acquaintances, especially those that your Sims…
I can also confirm that the gallery being defaulted to "popular now" is a problem. Ever since this update, nothing I upload is getting downloaded at all.
I'm kind of in between on this. For the most part, I think the game is fine the way it is in this regard, but on the other hand, there are definitely some things that could be improved on. Want to know why I so greatly disliked the decision to remove the ignore button from chance cards? Well, sure, it does have to do in…
This, SO much. As of Seasons, all the bugs are really starting to put a hindrance on my enjoyment of the game. For example, after installing Seasons, my Sims think that every single piece of furniture, regardless of its actual comfort bonus, is uncomfortable. They keep getting negative moodlets that are completely…
Oh yeah, when they first announced the new way that death was being handled, it definitely sounded great at first. But when we all started playing after that update, we unfortunately came to realize that it sounded MUCH better in concept than it actually is in practice. Seriously, the game is nearly unplayable right now…
I personally wanted imaginary friends the most out of the choices on the second poll. I loved having children bring them to life, grow up to marry, and have kids with in TS3. It made for a really interesting story!
Ah, so like a tournament? If I had known about the first poll, I would have been VERY torn between witches or werewolves. I don't think I would have been able to decide!
