I'm a rotational player too, and this happens to me every time I switch households with actors in them. What works for me is to have the actor use Cancel Gig on the phone and then check auditions. You have to start over with a new gig, but at least your sims can then go to work and get promoted.

I use them when it makes sense for the lot. So the internet café next to the high school is a Teen Hangout, the house with the enormous kitchen gets the Chef's Kitchen trait, the family home in the richer neighborhood has Good Schools, etc.

I had a bowling alley/arcade in Magnolia Promenade with the Teen Hangout trait and a lot of teenaged sims showed up. Most of my sims' high school friends were there and they did go into the building to play video games and have drinks. The same thing happened to an internet café with the same trait. Maybe I just got lucky?

They should. I put a mouse hole in the Vatore home and their cat would sit in front of it waiting for the mouse, then when the mouse came out the cat tried to catch it. I don't know if they'll interact with the roaches, though.

The Sims 4 doesn't have any kind of story progression, so NPCs won't autonomously move into houses or get married, etc. You can use a mod like MC Command Center for this, if you want, but the game won't ever do it by itself.

Yeah, sims are near the food stalls and some other areas of the park, but never on the actual lot itself. I hope the devs end up unlocking the lot so we can actually put it to good use. I'd actually like to use it for my legacies, or put in a library or restaurant.

Are you sure you have the right one? There's two new night lights. One is the regular version, the other has the stars. If you search for "starry-night" in buy mode it should show up.
