I agree, locked doors need more options. I have a family with lots of kids, and the boys and girls are in separate rooms. I want to lock the keep the brothers out of their sisters' room and vice versa, but I can't use the gendered bathroom doors because I still want parents and baby-sitters to have full access.
Building a second story works in Edit Town mode? I'll have to give that a try. Edit: I tried it, and it works! Go into Edit Town mode. Move your household to the clipboard WITHOUT their house. Build/Buy on the lot. Move the household back in. Another thing that's been working for me (I forget who suggested this workaround,…
This is exactly how I feel. Ever since I installed Seasons and the corresponding patch, this bug has taken so much of the fun out of my game. I'm limited to one-story houses, and I when I'm in build mode I have to constantly remind myself not to remodel the second story. I almost bought the University EP last week, because…
I've had this problem since installing Seasons in January. Once I figured out there was a second story bug, I stopped building second stories on my houses, but this has gotten very frustrating and puts a real damper on my games. I wanted my family's house to have room for their new baby, so I had to move them into a…
Join the second story crash club. I spent most of yesterday trying to build a house, but putting walls on the second floor made the game crash when I tried to save. My sims might just have to have a one story house for now.
I've been having this exact problem. If I build on the second floor of a household then try to save, I get an "Exception raised/debug" error message (I think that particular message is exclusive to Macs, but the problem seems to be the same). I can do whatever I want on the ground floor, but if I do anything on the second…
I've been having the same problem all day! I have a Mac, if it makes a difference. - I go into Build mode. - I build on the second floor. - I try to save. - I get an "exception failed" error message. It doesn't crash when I build on the ground floor then save, just the second. Strange.
We don't all have the option to use a second computer with Windows. If EA didn't intend for Mac users to have an equal gaming experience with Windows users, then they never should have made the game Mac compatible in the first place. But they did make TS3 Mac compatible, and we deserve to have our games run as smoothly as…
I'm all too familiar with this error message, and have reinstalled at least twice since I first got TS3. Aaand it's back. I'm pretty sure Seasons (and possibly the most recent patch) is to blame. I've been getting this error message all day, but only under very specific circumstances. - It's the same save file, same…
Eat some life fruit! Use the buydebug cheat. If you're not familiar with it... Type buydebug into the cheat bar. That will add a whole new section to Buy Mode where you can get things like ripe plants and decorations that aren't available normally. Eating one Life Fruit will set the Sim's age back one day, so eat as many…
Yep, I think the only differences they have are coloring, Andres' face shape and Marisol's nose. It looks like Lacey is completely bred out, except for her hair color on Marisol. Of course, I'll have to wait and see if Lucky's genetics have done any major damage. It looks like they all have Lucky's eyes.
Yeah, he turned out the best. Unfortunately he got a lot of Lucky Perkins' features from his father, and his mother's mouth. So here are the boys. Quentin's the one in the sweater, Toby has the hair over one eye, and Jimmy has the shaved head. Toby died in a tragic birthday cake accident, and Jimmy moved out. Quentin…
I'm playing on an extremely short lifespan because I'm only using these Sims for breeding purposes. Maybelline married the son of Shirley Lin and Lucky Perkins (which I didn't find out until after she was pregnant, oops). Kasey Lin They had triplet boys. Jimmy Toby and Quentin
You still haven't explained what you mean by homescreen. Are you trying to open a cheat window in the Main Menu (immediately after loading the game, before you choose a family)?
I was gifted one of my Wishlist items by blacksheba on my birthday (thank you, if you didn't see my thank you post in the birthday thread!) so I updated. Here's a bump!
Jesse married an EA-generated pudding face townie, so his daughters turned out bland, but his son inherited all of his genetics (he was completely 100% identical to his father) and had some gorgeous kids. Jesse's sister was also quite pretty. http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=4403514 And Jude is the founder…

I'm going to give this a shot! I'll try to have only one pregnancy per generation. This is Lacey Ugga. Her sliders are all on extreme settings--either all the way to the left, or all the way to the right. She got together with Dallas Shallow... ...and changed her appearance as much as she could to fit in with her husband's…
