I don't even understand why this was implemented. I've never heard a player say "Wow, I wish there were in game ads to help me purchase more DLC." Like, no one on Earth would ever have any use or desire for this feature in the first place. No one is asking for this, so what even is the point of having it?
Who on Earth thought this was a good idea? I'm so thankful my game doesn't have it, and hopefully with all the negative pushback, they'll remove it from all games.
Yeah, makes sense that this patch would be pretty small given that it's coming right after the holiday season. Hopefully the next patch fixes up some more stuff. At least mermaids can have body scars now
I’m just hoping for bands at this point. I feel like it would integrate really well with Get Famous and I could create messy scandals with musicians and actors and everything.
Vegas would be such a fun idea! I’d love them to go all out on that Vegas showgirl aesthetic, and really tap into that campy over-the-topness for their CAS assets.
I would love another American world, so I wouldn't mind somewhere like Seattle for their indie music scene, but I think Seoul, South Korea could also work if people are aching for more international locations. That way we could also have kpop looking CAS assets too, and maybe sims could be idols and choose to follow a kpop…
I’m hoping and praying for bands. I really want to make little garage bands for my teen sims and then have them become super famous. I’d also love a way to have malls in the game, but I don’t know how feasible that’d be given the 20 sims per lot limit.
Isn't that an issue with the way elevators work, not an issue with the way open world works? If elevators worked in TS4 in the same way they did in TS3, I'm sure we'd also get tons of sims stuck in elevators in San Myshuno bars. That doesn't seem to be an issue related to open world. I briefly fired up my game, and took…
It’s literally in the code though. Once your sim shows up to a lot, the game pushes townies to arrive. I’ve seen footage, and that’s how it happens. If your CPU is good enough, it pushes around 8-10 townies to show up. Looking through the Sims 3 subreddit, most people’s community lots are pretty active. By game design,…
Mermaids are honestly my favorite occult. I don't even mind that they don't have a skill tree or anything. I actually kind of like them as a low-key, chill occult. They're just so pretty and I love their iridescent tails and colorful fins.
You have the exact same mindset as me lol. Those are the two exact packs that I never plan on getting, Eco Lifestyle for being actively disruptive to my gameplay, and For Rent because of a lack of interest on my part. It sucks because the build/buy in Eco Lifestyle is amazing, and the CAS assets in For Rent look so…
Was your PC powerful enough to handle it? Because whenever I load up TS3, my community lots are very active. I've counted an average of around 8-12 sims on a lot before. It's less than TS4's 20 sims per lot, but I think that's just because TS3 older and by design doesn't push more than that amount of sims to visit. The…
I just feel like at a certain point, they should be able to compromise a bit. Maybe just make the game open neighborhood rather than open world, because how far does that excuse go? I'm sure, if they really wanted to, they could also make it so every room requires a loading screen, that way they could have an even further…
I agree that rabbit holes aren’t really gameplay, but I’m saying TS3’s open world was amazing because you could have sims on multiple active lots at the same time. Everything that is a rabbit hole in TS3 is still a rabbit hole in TS4, so it’s not like TS4 has improved on anything. Bars, parks, hangouts, festivals,…
I’m still skeptical about multiplayer and it’s free to play aspect because I’m wary of microtransactions and requiring online connection. It also makes mod support a lot more difficult, so I’m even more hesitant. That said, now that there’s so many life simulators coming out, I’m kind of tempted to care less about Rene’s…
I think what I was imagining and hoping for was like TS2’s apartment system where units that weren’t your’s were blacked out and not loaded, and only loaded once you knocked on their door. That way you save resources by only rendering your own active unit, but also avoid loading screens when you want to visit neighbors.…
I think even the presence of the loading screens, however short, are kind of immersion breaking. They’re super jarring when you just want to visit your neighbor for instance. But even aside from that, they limit gameplay. If I want a sim to say hi to their neighbors, I can only load one lot. I can’t have some sims…
It’s such a disappointment that the apartments will have loading screens. Why must this game cater to potato laptops that are barely able to support the game in the first place? Why can’t they at least give players an option to test if their PC can handle a more open experience? I’m sure plenty of players have PCs that…
It’s beautiful but I just hope it’s not filled with micro transactions. I’m scared that it’ll essentially be a free to play mobile game moved on desktops.
Totally agreed with the snow depth!! Sometimes I find myself going back to Sims 3 just for those atmospheric seasonal changes because seeing the snow accumulate really does add to the whole experience. Where I’m from we get feet of snow, so it’s so weird to see a tiny little layer in game, and it honestly takes me out a…
I feel like the base game worlds are often slept on. I love the campy Americana vibes of Oasis Springs. It just captures that tacky Vegas suburban, midcentury vibe perfectly, from the diners and dinosaurs in the background, to the atomic age architecture. Meanwhile, I love the regalness of Willow Creek. The colonial and…
