  • @cbear13 I don't see my entry in the contest banners, did I do something wrong?
  • @Cbear13 I was rereading the rules to make sure I did everything correctly and I forgot to give credit for photos/paintings in the actual lot saved to the Gallery (although I did credit them here in the forum). I was wondering if I should take the lot down, modify the description and relink it to the Gallery, or rather if…
  • Finally finished budgeting and playtesting just in time! Spent all day on it haha, budgeting was way harder than I realised, went from nearly 400,000 to 160,000 haha! . Just have to take pictures and write some notes if that's okay, wanted to get the Gallery link in time! QC challenge no: 56 Origin ID: norekp Are you a…
  • Quick last minute question as I rush to finish haha. Do we have to make note of items that intersect by design and there's no way to not make them intersect? For instance, dining chairs that intersect with table clothes when placed on a dining table or windowsill flowers that intersect slightly into the window? Thanks!
  • Another mystery I cannot seem to figure out haha! The corbels placed under the front circular dome, there are 2, seem to vanish every time I place the lot. They were raised using 9 but they are not falling to the ground, I checked under the foundation as well. What's more they should be within the bounds of the octagonal…
  • Finally finished the interior furnishing for the upper floor, which concludes this house for the most part (still have to modify it for the contest though haha). Definitely the most insanely meticulous interior work I have done, everything from the layout to colours to decor and themes, likely spent a bit too much time…
  • @rosemow Thank you for those lovely comments :) @FaithofKaela Thank you :) I'm not sure when I'm going to work on it again haha, must finish my contest build first! The roofing was definitely the reason I choose to imitate the French Country Manor I saw. It took forever to make, there must be at least 50 individual roofs…
  • @Cbear13 Thanks for all the info, sorry it took so long to respond. I guess my questions are regarding intersections again haha, mostly wondering how much stuff must be altered as I modify my build for the contest. I guess I can just ask a few specific intersections that I do quite often to see how they might be judged. 1.…
  • Well deserved congratulations @WrathofCath !! A lovely home, I especially like the interior, you shouldn't hide the interior pictures in spoilers they were too lovely haha. I especially liked the dining table and different hallways. And also how each br was tailored to a different age group very well! I am still partial to…
  • Ah okay, thank you for letting me know. I always forget and for some bizarre reason have a tendency to put all the interesting stuff on the left haha. I never knew why they didn't picture the front and back rather than side as the side is usually the least interesting bit anyway.
  • @nectere thank you that is an extensive amount of work. So weird that it is lot specific. Does anyone know if there is a way to choose the angle when saving a lot to the gallery or library? Specifically I'm referring to the second picture, the side picture. Mine are always from the right side, however, I have seen a few in…

  • Well instead of working on my Christmas build like I should, I decided to take a break to work on another shell. I was getting a bit overwhelmed with the first build :) Originally, I wanted to try rebuilding a house called Ash Park from an Aussie tv show, but then I saw this beautiful French Country Manor in the 'related…
  • @5782341b77vl It is base game. Enter the code for ShowHiddenObjects then do a search for woodplank and it should show up. I recognised the item you're using as the water strip light, but as you say it is lacking for a train track :) In my build I simple put them in a line as you did, and then placed others perpendicular to…
  • @Rumpelstiltskin Ah okay, I finished the roofing after I recreated the shell. I figured I'd link a few pictures if you wanted to see anyway. It was the only way I could see that would maintain the diagonal structure of the roof, as extending the roofs too much didn't allow for seemless edges. I also modified the roof on…
  • @Rumpelstiltskin your bakery ended up looking quite nice! I especially like the brick and siding choices. I played around with the roof a bit before I saw your message and the only way I could make all the diagonals work is with a 2 tile wide half hipped roof border on a mansard style roof. I framed the mansard with the…

  • @Bonxie very cool lighthouse! I especially like how the colours contrast with the main house, very striking and awesome effect. Could I ask what pack the glass dome on top of the lighthouse is from? Never seen it before and it is very cool haha.
  • @Rumpelstiltskin No worries haha, there's no rush! No need to apologise at all! Btw, I forgot to ask were you interested in a roof style that matched brindleton's theme or anything that looked decent haha?
  • @Rumpelstiltskin would you mind throwing the shell onto the gallery? I had an idea but it would be easier to show than explain haha.
  • Ah okay haha, I totally misunderstood. Based on what I learnt I likely am just going to redo most of it once I finish building it as a standalone Christmas house for Brindleton haha. Shouldn't be too difficult though, just going to delete a bunch of stuff, which I had to do for budgeting after anyway haha, for instance…
  • Okay I feel I'm beginning to understand. So if you can't actually see the tree branch in the wall because it has been let's say covered by a cabinet then that would be okay? And for the rug, if you can't actually see the rug in any of the other rooms then I'm guessing that would also be okay? When I placed it I intended it…
  • @FaithofKaela Ah okay, another reason to buy Parenthood haha. Although part of me really doesn't want to replace all those lights now, especially because I noticed they are extremely difficult to grasp when you size them down. You have to actually click on the string and not the snowflake to delete them. Would take aeons…
  • Ah okay! Thank you for explaining and for the link. I had read the rules that are listed in the actual contest entry (like the lot requirements) but didn't see the general rules before. I just read them all and it makes a lot more sense. Also some wonderful tutorials! If I had known about the basement tip to raise objects…
  • Ah thank you so much everyone for clarifying! I had read the rules before but I didn't quite register what that part meant specifically. I feel I sort of grasp it now but my notes in this first try might be extensive. I usually always purposefully intersect objects for creative reasons when there are any, but I can…
  • @Lordkiribati Ah haha, okay that makes more sense. I'm glad you liked it :) I tried to imagine reasons why such an older style house would have such modern interiors and that's where it originated. It also allowed me an excuse to create the Baroque style "woman-cave" in the basement haha, while keeping all the other areas…
  • @lisalittlesimmer Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it, and I enjoyed building it very much through many many drafts haha and learnt a lot in the process, although fixing all the pathing was challenging haha! I would like to recommend the following builds for consideration as well: - Bubble N Brew by @MadRadMandee This…
  • I would like to nominate A Pinch of Green and Blue Kitchen by @Corwim I apologise if it has already been nominated, this is my first time nominating a room. I recently discovered how crucial individual spaces are to an overall build haha, and to appreciate a well crafted and decorated area :) This particular Kitchen is an…
  • Amazing works! So many to look at and all in a plethora of styles haha. I especially liked the Alfonso house. It is so wonderfully structured for such a large house, without being repetitive or standard! :)
  • Amazing builds! I especially like the Bubble Lounge and Periwinkle Cottage! So creative, colourful, and well done. And the landscaping on the cottage is amazing!! If it is alright with you I'd like to nominate both for Maxis Faves if they haven't been already?
  • Very cool builds! I especially like the last one, it fits to naturally into the tree!
