This is a brilliant idea, thanks for sharing your progress. I love HP and would like to try something like this. The common rooms look particularly great - I would of course spend most of my time in the Slytherin one! ;)
“Dear Watcher, thanks for always washing the dishes for me, you’re a legend. From now on could you please clean the worktops and mop the floor too?” P.S. This reminds me of a game called Baten Kaitos where the main character would always talk to the player!
I do wish mobile phones were optional and we would have the option to give our sims a landline. I also like the idea of some retro technology - it would be very useful for setting sims stories in older time periods.
Well, it was an interesting day at Sims Sessions. My sim got a ticket and decided to go along for the experience but he (or I) seemed to forget that vampires don't do well in sunlight. He cheered along to the music and bought some merch, but it was all getting too much and a snooze in the tent didn't help. He thought…
We might not be visiting the highlands in this Stuff Pack but it would still be a good idea for the future. @Simalleyaile It's a black-and-white fairy cat that supposedly haunts the highlands. There's probably a fairy version of every animal if you believe the old stories!
It's the best place for a vampire to drink the blood of cultured sims :p ! On a serious note, if a sim is an art-lover but also too poor to buy their own art, they can pop to the museum to get their fix. A bit like real life, I suppose.
As a Scotsman and occult fan I would very much like a Highlands-inspired pack. There are so many creatures from legend that could come into play (selkies, kelpies, cait-shìth etc.) not to mention the usual ghosts and ghouls. I can imagine my non-occult sims visiting a castle for a weekend break only to find strange…
I'd really like werewolves and it's incredulous we don't have them in TS4 yet but I picked the occult career option because I think it was a great idea and would make supernatural play more interesting. No more master vampires working as part-time baristas!
The Sims on PS2. Then I 'upgraded' to the PC version. I don't think my first game influenced how I feel about the direction of the franchise. The console version was quite restrictive and goal-based, whereas I prefer a more open game.
Not my cup of tea, but I'm probably not the target audience. It feels strange to see the Sims used in a competitive gameshow. It reminds me of a similar programme where teams would build things with Lego which were then judged by a panel. I felt sorry for the teams who would be eliminated after putting a lot of effort into…
No one at all? I remember going straight on the forums when I got home from school, it was a cool place. I think my username was Mortimer Goth 1 (on TS2UK/EAUK) and Mad Scientist (on TSUK), if any of you remember me.
I wouldn't expect a remaster, but the original TS2 with all of its packs is already on Origin - they just don't let anyone download it now (unless you claimed it when they were giving it away). I assume they could make it available again. Good idea. @SimGuruSarah Do you think there is any chance the older games could be…
It would be useful if one of the Gurus/admins could let us know if a re-release is a possibility. If they made it clear it could happen, I think a lot more people would be signing petitions.
Thanks for the information. It was such a long time ago that I played TS2 and I can't remember if I ever registered the games online, or which email address I used :D . I would be willing to pay again to get the UC on Origin, but EA are obviously not willing to sell.
I will quote what I wrote on a similar thread a while back: Just to add, I found the Sims on PS2 very difficult. My family were always on the edge of poverty as I recall :D . I found the PC version more enjoyable.
It's annoying that they won't make it available to purchase on Origin. I had the Sims 2 and many of the packs but traded them in years ago (my current PC doesn't even have a CD drive). I wasn't aware that the UC was being given out to those who asked until recently, and apparently that's ended now. I think they know if the…
I agree. I especially miss the Sims 1 and its quirky humour. I would gladly pay for a complete collection on Origin (even though I already owned most of the packs years ago). Keep in mind that they have released other games on Origin that are older than the Sims.
A lot of interesting and spot-on posts in this thread. I remember playing the original Sims game and how magical it felt. Twenty years since that game's release and I think I'd still rather play it than Sims 4 :D . (Sims 3 is still my fave, though).
Disappointing, but not surprising. I do find this result (and the previous community vote) interesting, however, as it shows how a game like the Sims allows people to play in very different ways. I like to play games to escape reality, but others like to recreate it. I hope all the knitting fans enjoy this pack :) - but I…
Thank you! It didn't show up in my game and I was worried I wouldn't be able to vote for Happy Haunts. I didn't realise you would be using the 'Alternative Vote' system. I had a hard time ranking which parts of the pack would be my favourites (I settled on Grim Reaper career for number one).
Happy Haunts for me. I would love for my sims to be ghost hunters (especially considering ghosts are a reality in the Sims). The Grim Reaper career sounds interesting, too. That being said, I don't see a supernatural-themed pack winning a community vote. I still wish they would make a proper Supernatural expansion to…
