Hi, I am having an issue adopting a pet. My sim lives in one of the apartment buildings and she adopted a pet on the computer. I waited a day, but nothing has happened. No one has showed up with a carrier etc. I checked on the street to make sure they weren't standing outside. I have no mods/CC.

Ok I found this in The Sims 3 help section and so far its worked for me; no more never ending saving. First you create a new game and save it. Then you go back to your old game and save. For my new game I didn't bother using CAS I just selected one of the pre-made households. So far so good. Hope this works for you.

My game started doing this recently as well. I've tried saving just after a few real time minutes and it will still just get stuck on saving. It never stops. You can invite them to visit by clicking on their picture in the relationships tab. Then when they are at your house (and their relationship is high enough), you can choose to invite them to move in like you would any other sim in the game. Or you can propose marriage instead.
